if a challengers team were to win champions (which is most likely impossible)
are they technically just gonna take a spot in t1
or
stay in challengers
(keep in mind, challengers players under 18 cant play in champions shanghai neither vct)

I would hope they make a clause that a champs win makes you instantly qualify for partnership but skipping ascension would be a bad thing
it would be a terrible idea. We don't want a random bum org locked in a T1 league with very few spots for several years
winning champs is a big deal
not having Acend in franchising is one of the worst mistakes that riot have made
Yes it is a small ahh org, yes they prolly couldnt keep up the money flow but rn Acend looks like the worst fluke win of all time
I don't think you realize that 99% of orgs in T2 don't have the money to be competitive in T1. I don't give shit about the achievment; I don't want another EG in the league for 3 years or so. The league is way too small to allow teams who don't have the means necessary to be competitive to stay in it over actually serious orgs
thats why riot made the franchising system. having T2 teams ascend is something they endorse. they will invest a lot of funds to support T2 teams competing in T1. why would they make an Ascension system while not wanting T2 orgs compete...
They could just copy league otherwise...
that is not what you proposed tho. You said that you wanted challengers teams who made champs to get to franchising, which isn't simply ascending through ascension
T2 teams winning champs is extremely unlikely, pulling it off requires an amazing team and I would want to have all 5 players in a league. thats what I dont like about 2023 EG, they just nuked their team because they couldnt afford it.
Optic won a masters and Acend won a Champion and yet they were not given tier 1 spots so its most likely that the tier 2 team wouldn't get a spot unless they are an org like G2 or NS
