Viewership Overexpectation

I think people have either over expectations or are overexaggerating about viewership . 450k average viewers isn't bad for any esports. This year's PGL major had 593k average viewers. Also the spike in it was due to it being the first LAN major that too with crowd in 2 years. Before that it's peak viewership was 1.3 mil while for VCT Masters iceland it was 1 mil. Also Champions match timings are very bad to build up Asian viewership and even for Europeans match 3 starts very late.. And since it's a new esports diehard fans are still less in number to be staying awake that late. With how Fnatic Liquid and Brazilians are performing I am pretty sure the playoff stages will have more viewership than Masters.

The thing is, Valo Beta version had double the active playerbase than current game. Also, considering Riot's God-Tier marketing and global popularity, it's not unjustified to have such high expectations. Back in 2012 when CS released, esports as a whole was not developed, internet access in developing countries wasn't so good, in addition to Valve being shit and not even caring about the game ever. So, CS debut vs Valo debut doesn't make sense anyway. Not then, not now. The situations have always been different.

In any case, who really cares about viewership? We aren't gonna get a single penny even if there are 5 million viewers. We are the ones paying, both in terms of money and time. If you enjoy, that's all that matters.

Its always been csgo fan boys bringing this topic up. They're very insecure and fragile because playing csgo to them is their whole personality. If cs is not the best then they literally cannot handle it. That's why CS has the most insecure fanbase of any FPS lol while sitting low in average twitch viewerships than fortnite, apex, and valorant all year cept their majors.

yet you guys were bringing up that topic back when csgo was in its online phase? you guys seem to be in defensive mode now seeing how csgo peaked 2 748 434. not so dead anymore is it? val frogs crying rn

lol what? Its still dead in viewership outside of majors. That's my whole point even when its back on lan . Its literally 12.1 k on twitch right now as compared to all the other fps. Its just not a game that ppl like to play casually for many reasons, it doesn't appeal to new players/casual players as the other fps, filled with cheaters that you have to pay for third party to even have some form of competitive integrity.

OMEGALUL VAL FROG BRAIN. playing a game you love = u have to stream on twitch. wtf is this take?

okay so why doesnt League of legends players play csgo? because they dont like it? simple? no one is forcing them to play it? whose making them play the game? no one.

i dont know man. its like a trend where people enjoy playing new games?

Its been shown that average twitch viewership correlates to player base, it makes sense because streamers wants to play what's popular. lol you are brain dead if you can't see that LoL has huge appeal worldwide from all regions which is why it dominates twitch viewership for so long. Valorant been new for a year lol and still holding out that average viewership. The trend you're talking about is stuff like amongus and fall guys where it boom in popularity and no one plays after.

no shit LoL appeals worldwide. whose saying it isnt? nobody is dumb is enough to say that so nt.
you seem to be riding that average viewers dick hard? cant peak in viewership so gotta milk out the average views?
you seem to forget valorant heavily relies on other streamers too you know? people enjoy watching co streams such as tarik and shroud so they are most likely gonna stay for longer.

? You basically agreed with all my arguments so far lol that cs is dead outside of international tournaments, like streamers stream what is more popular and more appealing. LoL i used as one example. Why doesn't streamer just idk stream cs ? oh yeah cause its a boring game to watch and play with no casual appeal. Cs is literally just european jacking each other off and they call it an international esports where there's no real competition. Kid from clown town is a nice name for you lol

why are westerns so shit at lol words? because asian scene dominates them by miles. because of this eu/na scene and other scenes in lol is dead right? because asian scene is so dominant and large? no "real competiton" for asia since they all get fucked beforehand??

"cs boring game to watch and play with no casual appeal" 2 748 434 peak viewers btw.

again bro. no one is telling streamers what to stream. the game they play does not always depict the number of views they get. why cant everyone be streamers? they gotta have personalities/traits people enjoy watching.
valorant is just like fortnite. audience differs to cs.

This is exactly the problem, valorant is a streamer game only staying alive because of twitch streamers. It wont survive if there is a new game stealing all the attention.

thats a cap. few days ago when vision strikers vs full sense get almost 700k first day first game all the valorant frogs post saying cs frog are shaking and valorant champions will hit 5 mil or something. even posting to HLTV to get some attention and to laugh at cs because valorant gonna grow. now its not growing everyone being defensive in valorant frogs and everyone know that it peaks because drops and content creator but not people watch to enjoy themselves for the game.

im honestly sad because i like playing valorant but it is what it is . cs is way better esports than valorant since + drama riot makes and weird decison by riot.

just stop with these viewership threads. its true that cs is a better esport now and valorant is a streamer game. but in the future valorant will be a better esport because i can already see all the scenes around the world growing together

CSGO IS DEAD OUTSIDE EU, CIS, and BR - fact

Valorant as a global esport > CSGO

this is one of the main reasons why I like valorant as an esport. It has a higher chance of being a global esport like lol than cs/dota. anyone who thinks otherwise is just salty

So much coping in here. People need to realize that viewership peaks before it starts going down. If champions doesn't surpass reykjavik then Valorant will never be anything more than it is now.

#44

Asian viewership isn't even included in charts due to it being non-reliable

Too much cope on this post

Also, it's neither a new "esport" nor a new game. We've been past that phase long time ago
