what are your thoughts on the entire roster being nuked
for what it's worth, i think a full rebuild is better than keeping one or two previous core players. i feel if they kick everyone except eeiu then the team will be better simply due to fresh blood + keeping a truly good player on the team.
high hopes the team will perform well (esp with the coaching change), but i'll probably switch over to nrg now.
nah I fully agree with you bro, I think Asuna and Kess are very good initiators, Zander is a good IGL and Cryo could be a great sentinel if he picked up the role.
BUT they need an identity reset tbh, the last time they made more than 2 roster changes at once was way back in 2022, they've kinda just added pieces here and there but I think that sticking with only eeiu or possibly even Cryo (only if he is on perma senti) will let them build a new team culture
its 50/50 with eeiu cause Cryos agent pool is a bit fucky, so you could argue that there are upgrades instead of him
eeiu literally plays the second most important role, mid rounds, has goated util and is the 2nd best initiator in the region behind trent, so I could see a world where they see him as untouchable
I think there are 2 ways they can go.
Replace Zikz and Kess with better options. The core 4 i think is still good but needed good strats like what they had when sgares was at the helms.
Nuke all of them except 1. Retain either Cryo or eeiu because they deserve it but add new 4 player and a coach to actually reset the team.
fully agree with you.
i think option 1 is better, because i've always considered every single player on this team to be exceptionally talented, they just don't work well together which leads to their failure. kess is an excellent player but it's clear that being off his main role is doing him no favors, so dropping him for a full time duelist is a no-brainer. and either moving zikz to ac or replacing him with a coach that helps all his players flourish would be ideal too. could lead to a truly special roster.
as someone whos been watching them since YBD was on the team, its really sad. i always loved watching asuna but this is sadly what most likely needs to happen if 100T wants to put up better results. keeping eeiu is the safest bet because he’s insanely flexible and can be easily be rebuilt around.
although i wonder who they’re going to pick up. sen has a bunch of expiring contracts, and so do some other international orgs so it’ll be exciting to see who they’re bring in.
if yall watch basketball, i basically hope this is the demar derozan trade in 2018
it's really sad watching it fall apart, but it's esports and changes needed to be made.
eeiu is definitely by far the best player on the team so keeping him was smart. i'll look forward to seeing what they do with the team but i can't really support them if every player i used to like on that team besides eeiu is gone.
No, 100T havent been great but they haven't been KOI level of shit either.
while they havent made most of the events, they also havent missed playoffs for the last 4 splits, and their worst record was in 2023 when they went 4-5. For comparison, KOIs BEST split was 2-3, and they have never made playoffs.
KOI also only got their treatment cause riot wants M8 in the league, there is no NA equivalent for 100T to be replaced by that makes sense
Not nuking the entire roster. Clearly there are good players on 100T because they didn't do all too poorly but 100T decide to drop everyone and start from scratch. Ig if they want to trial everyone again it makes some sort of sense but if at the end of this all players don't make it then its shame on 100T
unfortunately, there needs to be drastic changes when you miss 7 of the last 8 events, if the current players wanted to stay on 100T then they shouldve won more
I get it sucks because I also really like all of 100T as individuals but results are king and if you are Nadeshot or someone else on 100Ts management then all you are going to look at is SEN and G2s bundle selling much more than yours because they are successful, as well as the extra champs money they get, and you are going to want to try and replicate that success for yourself
Facts. You might not agree with my vision for a 100T roster but rebuilding with 5 t2 players with no prior t1 experience just sounds like a disaster. There has been no ascension team that has done well in T1 aside from G2, who ended up picking up Tier 1 talents Jawgemo and Leaf anyway. History repeats itself.
i can understand that take. but the issue is, it's been like that all along. the team has always been just that 1 step short from success. if you constantly make small changes in hopes of making that step, you'll just be stuck in a loop. i do believe that the roster shouldve stayed together for 1 more year with a -zikz and -kess for a good duelist, but yeah. there are 2 paths they could've taken here and both could've led to success.
