Thoughts on VLR ratings?

I feel like in cs when people bring up stats its about their HLTV rating and I feel like valorant fans dont look at ratings like cs fans but why is that? you can use ratings to quantify players impacts in a nice and fast way. yes they might not be perfect but I feel like HLTV and the cs scene are much closer linked than the VLR rating and the valorant scene.

vlr is used alot by pros and scouts, im also guessing that since youve been in both communitys maybe you have been around more people that actually watch CS esports instead of valorant thus they would care about stats

even in the esports realm. whenever I watch someone fromt he cs scene talk about a players performance its most the HLTV rating thats brought up when I see someone talk about a val players stats its mostly just KD that they bring up.

VLR rating is overhated, it’s a more accurate representation of a player’s performance than people are willing to admit just from an in-game perspective (so no intangible stuff like being a vibes merchant)

because there are more variables in valorant and thus calculating a rating to measure someone's impact is much more difficult, for example s0m got a rating below 1 for last game largely because the rating system prioritises surviving too much but if you watched you would see how crucial and impactful his util was that game
