primmie no duelist = LOSE
when will they learn?
Why is this upvoted? Map-wise they are 7-9 with him off duelist this split and 6-1 with him on duelist (yoru specifically). This may be due to superior map prep but they genuinely have a far higher win rate with Primmie on duelist and saying "you don't watch TLN" is a silly comment to make.
Ironically, it's last split where they struggled with map wins with Primmie (9-11 with Primmie on duelist the entire time).
If you look at the overall year:
TLN with Primmie OFF duelist: 12-14
TLN with Primmie ON duelist: 15-13
Somewhat negligible numbers statistically, owing a lot to map prep, but trying to hand wave the argument with false statements is irritating and disingenuous (because the stats do NOT agree with you!! Make better arguments).
i can't lie, all the people saying primmie on dive is worse for TLN is right but idfk why they just say it without any reasoning.
stats don't tell the whole story, so i get why a lot of people don't understand; TLN's main compositions are usually senti-heavy (occasionally even pulling out double senti + viper), and there's good reason for that. "but LOOOK at stats!!!" --> but also look at their dynamic within their team and how crws calls. crws is a fundamentally strong igl, but its known that when primmie dives in, TLN either has primmie getting a multikill with the help of util from backline, but if the util misses (or the opposition pulls out something unexpected out of their playbook/anti-strats, which teams like TS/RRQ do), or if primmie whiffs, their whole playbook is deterred and FrosT knows this. on the other hand, lets say primmie's on senti. you can actually see better synergy within the team (primmie on senti gives team more flex power) where primmie has the option to hard anchor on agents like dl, and rely on aim in an adv. scenario where they have site control, numbers, or plant down.
sure, win rate definitely counts and matters, but the fundamental idea that TLN, FrosT, and Crws agree on revolves around Primmie's senti play, and less of gambling on Primmie's performance from day-to-day on duelist. (less risk = better play, especially when the valo scene approaches a higher skill ceiling and less mistakes appear, which is also why you see a lot of pure aimers adopt the senti role like Meteor, leaf, tex, yay, Alfajer, Flashback, and Zellsis--see https://www.vlr.gg/360692/what-made-duelist-sentinel-so-successful)
