So after the current partnership contracts expire.. will riot give Team Falcons a contract? i mean they almost have a team/player in every esport available. Hell even a GC team, so a men valorant roster ain't far enough.

They had a roster that won Challengers MENA in 2024 (Akai, KHaaLiD, SpYzera, Moh, Sand) but then dropped it right before Ascension

Riot doesn't fw the Saudis. They rejected the Falcons at LEC, so who's to say they wouldn't do the same had they won Acension.

They will 100% be in by 2027 though.

currently to be in Tier 1 teams have to disclose who owns the org, and falcons historically have refused to give out this information

if they get franchised I just know they gonna drop the bank and build a super super team. Buying their way to success like they usually do

They are in GC yea so they’re showing their investing
Riot showed they’re okay with the ewc so they might try to get a spot at reevaluation

It's very unlikely

https://esportsadvocate.net/2024/08/team-falcons-release-vct-emea-ascension-roster/

In the course of our research, TEA has learned that Riot does in fact have a global esports ecosystem-wide (Valorant, Leagues of Legends, TFT, etc.) rule in place that requires the disclosure of ownership, and also bars teams with direct ties to governments or government-controlled entities from participating in its Tier-1 leagues.

Great article.. so anything related to government is given a clear NO on their face, that's kinda good from rito

and also bars teams with direct ties to governments or government-controlled entities

I think this statement is a little incorrect/misleading. NRG has no ownership from the us government but certainly has direct ties to the us army who they sponsored by

Interesting point

I guess it’s permitted due to the ambiguity of whether “direct ties” is inclusive of sponsors, since this part of the rule book is in reference specifically to ownership it seems
