Low GPU usage

so i have a hp pavilion 15 gaming i5-9300H and gtx 1650 5 gb and i realised that whenever i am gaming the gpu utilization is around 40-60 and cpu is 50-70 and later gpu usage becomes 0 and my game crashes , any help?

whenever it crashes i restart and play again until it crashes so i might have restarted my laptop 20 times over the past 3 days

ahh yes that could be but even in valo it reaches high temp but never crashes but in forza horizon 5 it does :(

Then it most likely is a temperature issue. Try playing with your laptop inclined, preferably with a cooling pad. Also, I'd highly recommend replacing your thermal paste, I play on a laptop too and am always replacing it every once in a while.

i did replace my thermal paste in sept , it dries out in 3 months?

are you plugged in and performance mode high?
also I'd suggest buying a cooling pad it works pretty good for me

yea plugged in and i use ultimate performance and yes i feel like i really need to buy a cooling pad now

Assuming you used the right thermal paste for your laptop, it shouldn't dry out in that little time, so try using a cooling pad and keeping it at an angle

Edit: oh yeah, if you don't already use it, look for tutorials on ThrottleStop so you can undervolt your CPU and limit turbo clocks. This will definitely keep your temps more stable

i tried using throttlestop but got scared that will it harm my laptop in any case

ThrottleStop is a must for any gaming laptop. If you follow along good tutorials there's nothing to worry about. You'll be using ThrottleStop to undervolt your CPU, not overclock it. So the worse that can happen is your laptop crash because there's not enough power running through (which simply restarting will solve).
