Nobody considers it peak writing
People watch it because it’s fun and good at being hype asf, not because it does anything new or innovative
for its time it was a fairly new genre at the time of when the manhwa came out
It wasn't the first to use the concept of hunter-gate-dungeon-system neither was it the first black haired handsome edgy assassin shadow necromancer super op mc.
I was the first to execute these ideas to the best of its limitations as an edgy power fantasy. Solo leveling is the peak of power fantasy, and that's why it works.
if you read my comment, i never said they are the first, i said the genre at the time was fairly new, plz read before typing
compared to ORV, sl is generic, but the main thing is the action and fighting, whereas singandsong focused more on how written the characters are.
I've already read the light novel, now I'm waiting for the next chapters of the manhwa to be released
I just recently finished the orv manhwa and i’m debating on restarting it with the web novel are starting where the manhwa ended.

If it's one of your first web novels just keep in mind the translation might get really funky at times assuming you can't read the native language. If you can stomach sometimes having to fill in/replace words to entire lines to make it flow better in your head, though, I def recommend the web novel.
water is wet. sadly has set the standard for most manhwa just having some guy aura farm without plot. very good read still but boring plot wise
