Ok, so I see a lot of people sharing make-up ideas.

Let's be real about it, there are some constraints -

1) You cannot meet your friends physically (if you could just give them the HD and they can copy it).
2) Your internet seems to not be an issue as you are ready to mail/upload on drive this content worth 512 GB. The same with your friends as they will have to ultimately download those as well.
3) The major limitation seems to be Google drive's limit and or other services.

If you want to do it the proper way (how a guy in IT would do it) what you need to create is an FTP server. Now this will take a decent chunk of your time trying to figure it out from scratch. Luckily there are some easy-to-use programs with GUI to help us out.

https://filezilla-project.org/

use this, download the server for yourself and ask your friends to download the client. Now the disadvantage of this is the fact that you need to keep your PC on while they download the files. What I recommend is you do this over 3-4 days downloading 150GB each day over 3-4 hours or something (This also depends on your internet speed so take your time).

If you have an old PC or Raspberry pi (if you know what that is) lying around, that would be an ideal case just run this FTP server on that PC and keep it on 24/7 for a few days and let your friends download it.
