We need a relegation system

At this point, introduce a relegation system, man. Teams do this whole "Our start of the year has not been good, so we will stop trying and wait for next season" thing and it pisses me off so much. These mfs are doing anything they want without the fear of being pushed off to tier 2. On one hand you have top teams fighting for spots in the global with consequences and bottom teams just fuck around without ever finding out. Add an element of fear to this, Riot.
Also let's be real. The competitive integrity thing doesn't exist. That shit is a myth. I have seen teams lose a whole year without their spots being taken away. Does that not come under bad competition?
Atleast add something like demerit points which over a time being accumulated will result in a team being replaced. Do something.

the real problem is the season length, like 6 months? seriously? how can a team expect to develop at all when the off season lasts half a year. after riot fixes that and the weirdass regular season format then could a relegation system be viable

Some Tier 2 teams do this but worse. In Latam Challengers this one team named FUSION arranged a team that was filled with tier 2 star players from the area, as well as an ex-VCT player. As you would expect they had high expectations (and high salaries too I imagine). So, what happened is they did bad on Split 1 and basically performed way under the org's expectations. In the end they couldn't even make it to play-offs which made it pretty much impossible for them to play ascension in the future (which was their original target).

Since they knew their chances of making ascension were non-existent they literally just released their roster and are probably just gonna get some randoms to play for the rest of the year. That way they won't need to keep paying the high salaries of the original players, and save it for next year's attempt at making ascension. Pretty messed up stuff
