yeah they are on unlocked sccounts but i thought there may have been a rule where u cant use them

either way i feel like its a way of respect not to use them and let the winners use them

they also get 1 for vct regional last year

people use those buddies all the time. governor was using champions buddy last game. it’s kinda lame but they have everything unlocked so idk 🤷

first time winner got 2 buddies, johnqt got 2 buddies

They utilize tournament accounts with everything unlocked on them, including skins, playercards, titles, buddies and agents. This is so people can have their preferred weapons equipped, which I'm sure Riot would prefer since I imagine it would boost sales for certain skins.

But mindfreak doesn't have it on his normal main account he uses for ranked and whatever, just like other people that haven't won internationals that have equipped these buddies during LAN tourneys. The only way someone who have the Master buddy and didn't win an international Masters would be if they won a regional masters event in 2021 but mindfreak did not win that.

tldr; just equipped it for fun but doesn't actually have one outside of the lan account

He is closer to become winner of masters / champions than ALL OF YOU closer to even made it to become immortal rank

he is right tho, there is a clause in VCT rulebook that disallows the equipment of LAN events prizes (if the player hasn't won them)

So prx disqualified against t1 bet

might as well use the opportunity to get something which he'll never really deserve.

I don't think this is entirely true lol there's been countless players not only in tier 1 but also in tier 2 that use tournament accounts and equip winner buddies like those with no repercussions
