a team has to have the most points of the 8 remaining teams that did not qualify for champs after stage 2

since masters only awards the winner +3, masters winners will have a large advantage in the point totals, especially if a kickoff winner also wins a masters. its essentially equal to 3 stage 1 and 2 wins.

TBH LCQ is always a fun event and teams playing to decide a 4th spot seems better than going off of a point system. 4 teams going to champs has always been the standard minus last year because of no CN partner league

left out something. Each regions top 4 are way more competitive this year for number 1 and each of them have a strong chance to take the trophy.

they did this so people would actually care for points and not just throw them out because they have no meaning, it’s not cooked it’s called being smart.

Only 1 team for each of the 4 regions qualify trough points to Champions 2024 – ie. the one with the most of them (not counting teams already qualified through Stage 2 Playoffs)

The rest of the 3 teams of each region qualify through ending in top3 spots at Stage 2 Playoffs

16 teams total:

  • 4x 1st spot (winners) Stage 2 Playoffs
  • 4x 2nd spot Stage 2 Playoffs
  • 4x 3rd spot Stage 2 Playoffs
  • 4x Championship Points leaders (outside of the top3 spots for Stage 2 Playoffs)

Teams earn points the following ways:

  • Winning Masters 1 Madrid (3 points straight)
  • Winning Masters 2 Shanghai (3 points straight)
  • Winning Stage 1 Playoffs x4 regions (3 points straight)
  • Each victory during Masters/Stages matches (1 point/victory)
  • Extra points (1 point for getting a bye at Stage Playoffs by finishing up top inside your group)

Last one is because some teams "miss" an opportunity to earn an extra point/victory for qualifying on a later stage at playoffs.

Top 3 in the region after split 2 go to champs then champ points matter for the 4th team
