SEN map pool

I think the narrative of SEN not having a decent map pool is just overblown.

  • On Ascent, they lost to 2 of the best teams on that map. Even if the scores doesn't show it, I think the game against NRG on ascent was very close tactically, they just made a lot of individual mistakes and lost crucial fights. They threw at least 3 very winnable rounds that I can remember off the top of my head.
  • On Icebox, they couldn't incorporate gekko very well imo. Specially the wingman plants were getting hard countered by Loud and they ended up being in awkward situations. But their, macro overall was good imo.
  • On Bind their comp and strats just got read by Loud but I think they have a very good understanding of the map still. So, I am pretty confident they will do well on Bind with whatever comp change, strategic changes they make.
  • They only looked absolute garbanjo on Breeze imo. I don't think any minor change would fix that.

Too dice to rely on...

Too many clutch plays happened in that map to say that is a good map.

They are the best on split by a long shot.

split is definitely their best map but their sunset is also something to be reckoned with imo

Split ban would lowkey bee good for SEN if anything. The way SEN plays split is no rocket science, they just have a lot to their playbook so that they can make minor adjustments each round to have the outcome in their favor. Even though no one has done it so far, I think their split can be antied. I feel like their fundamentals have gotten so good that they would benefit from playing maps where they have shown less stuff.

SEN BIND being bad is a crazy narrative and idk where its from. LOUD has been the best BIND in the world(besides OpTic) for the last 3 years and it honestly could have gone either way despite the story the score tells. SEN has also historically never been anything worse than above average at BIND.

Ascent is just a skill check tbh, whoever the better team overall is WILL win Ascent. Its not really a map you "develop", you kinda just learn the comp and play better. If SEN is better than TH then they basically are guaranteed to take the map

EG vs LOUD Map 1

Classic counter strat. If you play the basic Fnatic comp it's pretty textbook but everything has to be perfect with that comp cz you don't have too much util to overwhelm the opponent and just rush A/B.

did you watch how Ascent wasn't a skill check map lol, whoever's the better team overall will not always win Ascent.

because LOUD is the ONLY team that doesn't play standard and got double Odined as punishment. The mirror match up which 99.99% of Ascent games are, are objectively skill checks. EG vs LOUD is the exception not the rule, and barely so. You can definitely argue that EG's out of server work made them the better team that day and basically all of last season

Their ascent is just not fully fleshed out imo. They definitely could have fixed that with the time they had in between Kickoff and the masters.

With their Ascent and Icebox, I see them as maps where they can beat the mid to bad teams on but not the great teams. Their Bind just needs fresh ideas as teams just already know how to play against them. Their Breeze needs an immense amount of work to be a map they can beat even the mid teams

They have 3 great maps + 2 solid maps, They need to get better at 1/2, icebox or bind would be The best cause Sen hates maps with sova

I think their map pool is that they just arent as good on jett maps bc u cant rely on retakes. retakes with jett r way harder than with raze bc u have way less util. if u notice all of the maps they just got outclassed, all of them were jett maps where their defense was super weak on defense sided maps like ascent and breeze(and no they werent close tactically to nrg on ascent and lev on breeze, they were just running circles around sen). Only raze map they clearly lost was on bind to 100t. icebox imma just b real and say we need more info on it bc loud didnt look good on it either. that map is doggy where every team is mid and its just retake simulator but sen cant retake using jett so hopefully they can improve on it

Once again I was right. they just don't know how to play that map. Hindsight obv but I feel like they had a much better chance on ascent. In Americas, they lost to themselves but their macro understanding of the map isn't bad.
