optic/nrg wasnt an era, it was a tragedy

Just because they won one tournament, which many considered to be a fluke doesnt mean they should be remembered as anything great, or like an "era".

champs 2021: up 9-3 on haven, threw the lead could of went to playoffs and show a decent showing better than being grouped by x10?
champs 2022: grand finals, amount of rounds they threw, halves they through weren't they up like 12-9 on ascent? they had every chance of winning but tossed
lockin: loud, fracture, 12-11. they could of easily won but they threw the round away
tokyo: pearl harbor shorty. if they won pearl they would of 2x0 paper rex and went on to face eg
champs 2023: blg

They had all the oppurtunities to win an event, or atleast show a decent showing but this victor/fns/crashies core is nothing but tragic.

They’ve basically established the meta for 2022 - and created meta comps on a lot of maps which the modern day comps were based on. It’s not about forming an era but more about their contribution to the game.

masters berlin: 2nd
champs 2021: grouped (victor got covid)
Iceland: 1st
Copenhagen: 3rd
champs: 2nd

but apparently despite making 2 other grand finals and a 3rd place their win is a fluke?
its ironic that fans will say oh since fpx wasn't there it doesn't count while also forgetting that same fpx lost to drx. who's to say fpx doesn't meet drx early and loses in Iceland? lmao

also you shouldn't compare optic vs nrg. they are 2 different rosters and no one thinks nrg dominated in 2023 lol

I mean both full Fnatic and FPX were missing. Easily the best EMEA teams at the time and were well suited for the meta at the time. Also when did FPX lose to DRX? Copenhagen group stage with SEIDER instead of Suygetsu, and then rolled them with full roster? Or talking about Champions that happen after both Reykjavik and Copenhagen?

fnatic lost to G2 3-0 at the time. they weren't nearly as good. the only case is FPX which again they lost in Copenhagen to DRX and then got destroyed at champs twice with their full lineup by DRX. it's extremely possible for them to have lost at Iceland as well, it's not some "free" tournament as people make it out to be..
not to mention I dont think FPX has ever beaten loud. which probably would destroy them as well.

either way. at Iceland chamber was more fullpower and optic had neon comps that no one else did. I think it'd be pretty likely optic would win but who knows

you can't just blindly say a tournament was a fluke because optic would go onto outplace them again at champs. but only Emea fans really say this anyways so :/

Yeah because Fnatic were mentally boomed and played like shit, while G2 was peaking with especially Meddo and Avova stepping up who normally were the weak links. I legit have comment before Reykjavik saying how I think G2 will perform worse and they did.

And I never said FPX would have won Reykjavik, but considering that both them and Fnatic, the 2 best EMEA teams were missing makes Reykjavik look way less competitive on paper than it would have been otherwise. That's like if NA in Reykjavik was only represented by The Guard, and LOUD had replaced Aspas and Sacy with mid tier 2 duelist and initiator.

And Reykjavik wasn't even as heavy on Chamber as later events and agents like Jett and Raze were still very relevant. Also OpTic running Neon comps might not mean that much, who knows. They were playing it on Fracture like DRX and played same Split comp as M3C with some changes obviously. But who knows. Full FPX beat DRX's Neon Fracture in Copenhagen.

Who is saying they had an era? Astralis in CS had an era. OpTic in Valorant didn't have an era.

it wasnt an era to begin with LMAO. An actual era would be like Astralis's 4 and half year dominance in the CS is more likely an era to be called about
