This is absurd as fuck, VCT needs some new regulations.

  1. A player's pay can't be docked before their contract is over. There can be some exceptions like if a starting player was moved to the bench.

  2. Organizations like C9 and EG running budget roster teams should receive less benefits from being in the franchise league, and teams that provide more should receive more benefits.

  3. Benched players (Not subs), should always be allowed to find new teams and explore new opportunities.

These are just my thoughts on how to make VCT better, and to promote a healthier system for the players.

So we just let EG ruin their player's worth?

man i dont even think they're docking pay, they probably just wanted some players on smaller contracts proportioned to the income of the team

We gonna pretend like they didnt just win champs prize pool lmfao

Why should contracted players on the bench just be allowed to leave, please think about what you're saying

Giving more benefits to the richer teams makes absolutely no sense, at all, C9's budget team was 8-1 in the league and had the best round difference, EG won champs, those teams arent just budget idiot

Haven't seen any proof that EG is witholding the contracted pay, if they did thats an issue but what you're crying about is that EG is not selling their players for under their value

Agreed, except I wanted to note that demon1 reportedly has a much higher buyout than the likes of com and jawgemo. The latter being linked to joining g2 kinda supports this. Demon1 and Ethan were the two Eg refused to let go because they thought NRG weren’t offering enough, that’s fine reasoning. But not letting boostio leave (100T were also reported to have made a substantial offer for him) probably came off as odd for a lot of people, hence the eg threads

I disagree VERY heavily with your second point. The reason C9 and EG are running budget rosters is because their financial situation is pretty shit, what they're doing is pretty bad but it's being done in the name of sustainability. Rewarding teams for investing stupid amounts of money just makes rich teams who have the money to throw around that much richer, and those orgs that don't have the clout of teams like Karmine Corp or Sentinels can't compete

  1. They can't dock pay unless it's explicitly stated in their contract, they are most likely rejecting offers so other teams finalize their roster, which means the players will have no where to go but resign on cheaper deals because they will be released if they don't.
  2. There is no problem running "budget" teams as long as they don't hire players and release them before the season. Right now esports is about survival not making people happy.
  3. Most benched players would be anyways released since there is no requirement for a 6th man and the org would rather not pay them.
