push up, sit ups, squats, planks, lunges. If you can't do these exercise, there are easier variation you can find online. you do the easier variation until you can do the normal variation of the movement. walking/jogging for like 30mins everyday also help.

Just do bodyweight exercises as much as you can. Google "compound bodyweight exercises" and start with that set of routines.

Invest in dumbbells, a barbell, and a pull-up stand with dip bars. A pull-up stand costs around $50 here and can withstand loads of up to 200kg. You might find it a bit more expensive in the US, but it's worth the investment if you're serious about calisthenics.

My piece of advice is while calisthenics is great, plus-size people should also add cardio exercises to their routine for their heart health. No offense.

ill start with this thank you. my end goal is to do body weight exercises, and skip the gym entirely if I can.

Bro if you're overweight stay away from calisthenics. Your progress will be slower because one unit of exercise requires you to lift your entire body weight.

Start with pushups at least 5 -10 reps

Be careful with running as this form of exercise is known to strain your kneecaps, especially in someone who is out of shape/240 lbs; it could even lead to an unfortunate injury, which will remain sort of unnoticed but for sure will be felt later in your life. Essentially you can always substitute running with bike pedaling exercise, or any other form of stationary machine exercises to condition your muscles first, if you decide to move on to running later. Or you could ignore runnig al together and continue pedalling the bike macines for the all duration of your training cycle and it will help you burn enough energy to lose weight, if your diet is in check.
Remember, consistency is the key, so don't overexert yourself.

it's too early for calisthenics.
While u do some of the above listed easy exercises without equipment, do them with 100% perfect form. 99,99% of people don't take everything they can out of pushups -> full range of motion -> scapula protraction
Here's 2 out of I don't know how many I watch

Cardio is key at first, it will help you build up stamina and endurance. To work on your pushups, on your knees lean on a piece of furniture and do incline pushups. These will help you build more strength to work your way up to doing normal pushups

Recommend putting cardio as your priority. Stamina and endurance are the most fundamental side of being fit and running strengthens your legs too!
Calisthenics can come after your body is more comfortable in doing execises

Bulking is better. Just lift heavy. Progressive overload.

calorie deficit + resistance training+ proper diet(macros + micros). don't go for running as it causes knee damage in heavier people increase daily steps instead.
