Transfer window: 11 September 2023 - 15 July 2024
(Note: This period is for teams to make player changes for the 2023-2024 season.)

Roster SUBMISSION dates:

  • Masters Madrid: 8 January 2024
(Note: Teams must submit to Riot a preliminary roster that is eligible to play in the Masters Madrid event by this date. This is a submission date and not the final roster lock date.)
  • Masters Shanghai: 18 March 2024
    (same)
  • Champions: 27 May 2024
(same. The final roster lock date for the Champions is on 26th July 2024, allowing teams additional time for adjustments such as securing visas.)

Team Composition:

  • Teams should have 5-10 members. The inclusion of a sixth man or substitute is optional.

Regional Player Restriction:

  • Each team can have a maximum of 1 player from another region

Trade and Loan Rules:

  • Loans are forbidden between VCT teams. Only trades involving players or cash are permitted.
  • Game Changers (GC) players can be signed by VCT teams at any time, as long as they're not already in a VCT team.

  • VCT teams can loan up to 2 players to VCL teams and are restricted to loaning these players a maximum of 2 times during the VCT competitive season.

Two-Way Players:

  • These players can participate in both Challengers and VCT tournaments.
  • If they play in 50% or more matches in VCT, they're classified as a VCT player.
  • A team can have a maximum of 2 two-way players.
  • If these players participate in over 50% of a stage's matches in the International League (IL), they are ineligible to play in their secondary team for that stage.

Affiliated Teams:

  • There's an affiliation between a VCT team and a Challengers team.
  • Both affiliated teams must be from the same region.
  • Affiliation ends if the Challenger team is promoted.

Safe harbor:

  • If a player is released from a Full Team Roster during the VCT Transfer Window, they have a 14-day "Transfer Window Safe Harbor" to sign with another VCT Participating Team.

i had a mistake, its only preliminary roster date so they have a baseline roster until the real roster lock.

slight correction: the dates cited as "roster deadlines" are roster submission dates. teams must submit to riot a roster that can play at that tournament. the lock itself only takes place later and they are separate dates. the champions lock, for example, is only july 26.

just for clarification, can VCL teams loan players to VCT or does that fall under two way player category?

that's a two-way contract. a VCT team can loan to a VCL player, but not the opposite. the opposite is a two-way contract. at least that's my understanding. falls under subsection 4.5 and 4.6 of the rules

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is not rule preventing an org from changing all 5 players mid season right?

yes.. but lots of technically in there.

But that could be an issue, basically means if you start 0-3 you can get a brand new roster and try again. I think they should force you to keep 3 players of the starting line up
