The anime is trash, COTE was always made for 12-15 year old male teens but the anime made it way worse. Still I think S1 is the best introduction to the series.

As for the LN, it's average in writing but gets an above average pass for having some interesting setups. Gets worse the longer it goes on tho, like most animanga and LNs, mainly after Year 1 it keeps embracing its harem BS more and more.

If you are interested, you can start at vol 4 after S1 since the first 3 volumes are boring as fuck and the anime condensed them.
