Everyone who says someone is soft for not liking straight shit talk out of the game is braindamaged. Disliking someone for shit talking someone else isn't being soft, it's just a person who doesn't thrive off online negativity for entertainment. If someone calls someone else a disappointment and their entire region trash (outside the game) they should expect people to not like them which I think Boostio and Demon1 probably know. But 90% of their fanbases don't and try to cover being straight up disrespectful with "healthy trash talk"

(I think shit talking is good in game but if you go out of your way to attack someone outside the game then it's just being disrespectful)

Thoughts?

I get your argument, but I wouldn’t say boostio and demon1 are “attacking them outside the game” considering they hung out in person and their comments were only about their game. They didn’t make any personal attacks towards the EDG players at all

It's soft that this is an issue for you man. Not that you dislike trash talk or disrespect, but that this is rent free and an actual issue that you mull over enough to have an outspoken opinion on.

I'm going to be serious this isn't meant to put you down or disrespect you bro, and I don't want to assume what you have experienced in life... I know this is a generalization but people that really care about this topic are sheltered as fuck, with no concept of reality, or even the self awareness that they don't.

You feel what you feel man, and that's valid, but it's really not that serious. People out here struggling to live, and we're all fans and players of video games, privileged in the fact we even have the time to be passionate/enjoy/care or access to it. The world's a rough place where respect is rarely found outside of the close circles around you, and that lack of respect is a lot more insidious and life ruining then some fps players talking shit outside a match. Like, humans will make another life a living hell just because they don't even have enough respect for another person to see them human, shit in the most extreme, it can even cause people to take lives and not even care.

So idk man, think about it, because if this is an issue for you I truly hope the darker world out there never comes knocking on your door my dude.

I don't care about the pros shit talking, I'm just stating my opinion on the community's response, how does it live rent free in my head?

Boostio and Demon1 trash talking will obviously not please everyone as some people just don't want to see negativity when it can be avoided. In the original post I was just saying that people should expect that when someone is trash talking, there will be people who support you and people who don't which is the whole purpose of trash talking.

I 100% agree with you that theres obviously worst things that happen in the world in comparison to some random guy who plays video games shit talking each other. But imo the excuse that "there's worst things in the world" is just dumb. Just cause theres worst things happening doesn't mean being disrespectful or rather negative is just suddenly supposed to be socially accepted by everyone.

you just have to accept the fact that there are redpill zealots among people. can never argue with them

i agree with you though. i really dislike the negativity it caused

Hmmm mb I guess, you seemed to be pretty serious about a topic that shouldn't be that serious. Then again I'm over here being way too serious too, mostly because I value adding to peoples perspectives and my own but I digress.

This is the thing, EG is not SEN, they literally don't give a fuck. Demon1 said it himself, he's a nerd, that wasn't some social bravado in the moment when he said he doesn't give a fuck lol. No one is holding a gun to anyones head about needing to like/support/engage with players/orgs they don't find entertaining lol.

It's not an excuse, just an observation and comparison that you are free to disregard or not. Social acceptance varies in importance based on the individual, and while I don't put much weight in it or energy (name should give that away), I accept others do. Just like some will need to accept that players and fans simply won't care about anything outside of results in the server unless they are bored and looking for trouble lol.

I'll put it this way too, If EG cared and listened to the fans the team wouldn't exist in franchising, potter would be fired, and none of us would be having this convo. They persisted because they have their own goals/dreams, fuck the fandom, people will like and dislike whatever, so do your own thing. It's the path to the least amount of regret.

I agree with you. At the end of the day we all watch Valorant for entertainment. I think this issue mostly just stems from a cultural difference in terms of how people react to negativity in general. People will have their different views and it's fair enough to believe what you want. But me personally, I just find that the fanbases manage to cause more harm than the players.

Oh 100% lol it's always the mass triggered vocal hive mind that causes the most damage, specially for the majority just chilling appreciating their own opinions and the beautiful diversity of life where we have them challenged by others. If we all believed the same shit and only enjoyed positivity or negativity as a collective, this would be a real fucking boring life for us all lol. Alright back to me being a baiter lol. Appreciate the thread and talk my dude, may you find success and happiness on whichever roads you find yourself traveling down in this life

Basically, it's all about perspective. Imagine you're on a plane looking down at the city. Everyone below has their own stuff going on – problems, joys, and everything in between. Yet, from up there, it's just a big picture. It's a reminder that we shouldn't get too wrapped up in small issues. Life's bigger than that, and we've got to remember to look at the big picture

Exactly, great analogy. I'm a pretty care free person most of the time due to the big picture. Sure some things suck, shit I don't like happens, but the majority of the time I can have a bad match, bad day, bad experience. Then either find motivation to strive and overcome it, or move passed it and preserve my own happiness and good vibe in life. That's shit y'all can take ourside of vlr and video games, you might find yourself enjoying life more
