“5 slots for this?“

It doesn’t make any sense saying that. Liquid was dogshit I’ll give you that. EMEA got an additional LCQ spot wich isn’t worth much, all LCQ teams got eliminated by now and this isn’t coincidence. They have less time to prepare for the tournament and put a lot of energy and strats into winning LCQ. I don’t think an additional C9 would have done better than NAVI, GIA or KRÜ. (Same goes for China qualifiers btw)

If NRG win tho, it will be funny to see 3 americas and 2 emea despite emea having more slots (and same amount of team as Pacific) XDDD

Bro are you even reading what I’m writing. They have more spots in playoffs because the 3 Americas teams that qualified directly are better than the EMEA ones.

I actually do think NAVI deserved that LCQ slot, but that extra slot was wasted, Leviathan could def make a better run then Giants, and I actually think Team Secret coulda been good too

Make a better run? No. If TS/Lev in group A. Its still not changing the outcome. both PRX & EDG still qualify.

Liquid is dogshit indeed. But navi isn't the problem either. All the series they had were kinda close games, can go either way.

Lev or TS is kinda inconsistent, they both probably lose 0-2 just like fpx did.

TS scrims with EDG, so I don’t think that it would be a stomp like we saw in that last game, also Lev just have that potential . But yea I agree in the end EDG/PRX qualify

You have a sensible take, I don't think TS or C9 would have done much better.

People are simply casting EMEA the slot waster because of how underwhelming franchising had been. Many expected EU to feature a superior depth of talents, but that's unfounded imo. The main demographic that played CSGO has aged considerably, washed CS pros are simply not good enough for T1 anymore, and the new kids are not necessarily better than their foreign counterparts.

In fact, even in hindsight, I'd rather no other team at Champions. Na'vi put on a show, and Giants were at least better than PAC's 4th. FUT is there for the Turk fans, and Liquid might have turned up.

Yeah bbg and nrg game was questionable. About CN qualifiers I think EDG just swept everybody with little effort, China is still a underdeveloped region and they would’ve qualified either way just by recycling Tokyo strats.
