The playoffs dream

Probably 7 of the most notable teams are in Champions playoffs, creating an all-star lineup.

Amazing.

DRX. The kings of Korea known to crack under pressure. Now with Zest as their seemingly permanent 5th, they seem to have stabilized in the Group of Death. Will they make it to the finals for the first time ever?

Evil Geniuses. Once the American underdogs, now everyone has their eyes on them. Their story will end here, but the question is how.

Fnatic. The undisputed favorites. While the other top teams come for their crown, will they hold on or drop before their dynasty takes form?

Paper Rex. The aggressive playmakers who always steal the show. Now with star player “something”, many say they can go toe-to-toe with Fnatic. Will they be able to go beyond their limits, or will they go out in flames?

LOUD. The last year champions who have seen better days. Their redemption route starts here, in the playoffs. Will they take back-to-back Champions or will their struggles suffocate them?

NRG Esports (hopefully). The slow starters who can build momentum and come back from the brink. They have so much to prove, but so little room for error. With the level of competition rising year after year, will their aging core be able to keep up?

EDward Gaming (hopefully). The Chinese team who single-handedly put their region on the board. Will Zmjjkk be able to carry his way through to a Champions win, or will their year end with deflation and disappointment?

8th team :/

FUT Esports. The Turkish superteam that was mediocre at Masters. They seem to be in great form, but as always consistency is key. Will they be able to step up to the plate?

T1. Another Korean team with a lot to prove. Their lackluster Tokyo tournament left many fans wanting more. Can they show on stage that their world-class talent can take them far?

I don’t know for sure whether this is the most stacked tournament yet gameplay-wise, but what I do know for sure that this is a tournament for the ages. The Champions 2023 playoffs will have kings crowned, hearts hardened, egos obliterated. Who will come out on top and place the perfect ending on their story?

DRX have already beat those allegations, 3 map OT thrillers, comebacks, they've done it all multiple times

I disagree. It’s too early to call whether they can actually weather the storm.

Im huffing giga hopium but I would love the storyline of BLG beating a tournament favourite twice in a row to make it into playoffs. It gets boring watching people tap heads all the time. I want to see more whzy flying in with a shotgun and shitting on set plays.

I thought about that, but I believe that NRG’s story has more legacy to it. I feel like BLG’s storyline overlaps with EDG’s a bit as well as whoever comes out of Group B.

I think FNC/LOUD or FNC/EDG finals would be the best story-wise.

Just to add to this a bit, I feel like it would be best for PRX, T1/FUT, EG, and one of LOUD or EDG to go out 5th-8th. I think a FNC/NRG upper final, DRX 4th, NRG 3rd, FNC 2nd, and the other between LOUD/EDG 1st would be best (ONLY STORYLINE-WISE)
