I know that nolan is really big in india but in his latest film, 'Oppenheimer', I read in an article that hindu's aren't happy about there being a light sex scene happening while reading hindu text

but is there a lot of people upset or is it just the media trying to spin a narrative?

Not trying to be politics so nothing spicy pls

There's always gonna be a section in India that will be offended on anything but most people are not offended....in fact Oppenheimer is beating records in India and probably one of the few countries where Oppenheimer is more popular than Barbie

🤣
Reason why its famous in India is because the actor made connections to bagvad gita. Big brain plan by the actor ngl

Most normal people dont care about it much, its all good
Theres always those who get upset over the small details, its the same for every community
Personally i do feel its a bit disrespectful, but the West has always been ignorant of Indian culture in general, so Ive learnt to let it pass

It's media creating attention and outrage among Hindus in an attempt to portray that country cares about Hindu culture and scripts in order to win election next year.

Most ppl ik who have watched the movie at most felt a little uncomfortable maybe but I haven't seen outrage. It's the media making it a bigger deal than it already is.

Personally even I felt that it was a bit tasteless to portray it in that way but it's not such a huge deal that I am gonna make a fuss out of it. That's the sentiment most of us who watched the movie share. That's why the movie has become such a huge success here.

Far as I've seen yes some people are upset about the scene. But from what I've heard from friends and people who saw, they only felt slightly uncomfortable and not too much. But alas there are certain people who just blow things outta proportion for the minute of things, and yes the all might Media(sarcasm). If these mfs are here no wonder they'll blow the fck out of proportion.

Normally movie and cinema fans are not offended , and all cinemas in big cities are already almost housefull . It's always Indian media with their small and conservative brain who always oppose these things .
No one give fuck about that paid media .
Government just against trying to gain some votes in name of religion again, as they always to these cheap awful ways .
