Valorant PC Specs questions

Hi, so I'm currently looking to buy a new gaming PC, and I wanted to ask a few questions before I start researching.
Assume I have done everything I can to optimize valorant(lowest graphics, setting VAL priority to high, etc...), and I play on the second lowest resolution(needed to play on that to consistently get 120fps AND record)

What specs what you need to get 240 fps on average? (no recording)
Would $1500 be a reasonable amount to spend to get 240fps + 240hz monitor? What about $2000? (Pre-Built)
Is it a big enough difference going from 120fps - 240 to buy a new gaming PC?
Anything else I should know before buying a new PC?

there will be a difference but not big enough to justify buying a new pc, and def not enough to make you play better. git gud

Why do you need to record but if your budget is 1500 you would be better off getting a gaming laptop IMO even tho Pcs in that range would easily get there as well (I just don't know if you buy a good monitor within your budget)

Recording is mainly so I can look back and VOD review my games, because I feel like I play well and then when I look back I go "omg this is terrible"

The thing is that I'd really just only use the PC for gaming, because I already have an somewhat okay laptop that I use day-to-day, so I think it's worth it to go for a PC purely for the better specs. I also couldn't really find a laptop with a 240hz monitor that would fit my budget, unless you can link one.

with optimal graphics you can prob make it average 380+ FPS especially if you lower the screen res, lower the resolution, and turn off shadows (in game user settings)
Keep in mind the guy was recording while performing the benchmark

I know it's picky, but having the number pad on the touchpad really bothers me =/

It's not picky at all my friend! You should def spend your money wisely, and as the person below me said I'm starting to think that you could probably get a nice set up with the 1500 budget, that could easily be upgraded in the future

You wouldn't need that great specs to get 240 fps on valorant 1500 would probs be enough, including a monitor. I'm not sure about prebuilt prices though as they tend to focus on having a way better gpu than needed, especially for a cpu heavy game like valorant.

Anything above a ryzen 5 4500 should defo get 240 fps.

Before I built my new pc I had a ryzen 5 2600 and it would get around 200 fps, and that was a pretty dogshit system overall (1050ti 16gb ram)

good build in your budget range (you should learn how to build a computer its not hard, theres youtube videos that show you literally step by step what to do, what order, what screwdriver etc)

I don't know many good prebuilt pc websites apart from overclockers, but thats UK only I believe. Would be worth researching and finding something similar to the build I sent.

I'm not exactly great at building a computer(My roommate had never built a PC before, so we decided to try together, and it eventually was just him watching a youtube video while I was just handing him the parts). I'll take a look at some videos.

I just mainly use amazon, idk any purely prebuilt pc websites.

5600 or 5600X are great mid-budget chips that do great for valorant (Not the 5600G, only get it if you need dedicated graphics. The G has half the L3 cache of the other two which does WONDERS for Val and CS).

Val is very CPU heavy, so if you want to optimize for that, getting a good 300-400$ card with a 5600/5600X will get you good frames. I have a 1650 super and a 5600X (8gbx4 3200hz ram) and I get like 300 frames (200 low, 400 high, 600 in menus/range) currently. Newegg is having a big sale in a few days (July 10th) so watch that for a discounted GPU.

Valorant is more cpu based so look to upgrade your cpu over your gpu. You dont need an insane gpu unless you need it for stuff other than val. Get at least 16gb ram. If you record with your gpu as your video encoder then it shouldnt have too much of an impact on performance. Also you definitely should not buy a prebuilt cause theyre usually overpriced and focus more on having a better gpu which you dont need for val. You should do extensive research and find the best parts for your budget and build it yourself.

With no recording, anything like a Intel i5-12400F and a 6700XT, with 16 GB of 3200MHZ RAM should easily get you over 240 fps, around 320-340 on average.

You would need around 1200$ to get that, even cheaper if you don't mind not having great looks. I have made a build for you to start off with, something I recommend, with upgrades being possible in the future

PCPartPicker is a great website to find parts to build a PC doing it yourself, and the parts in the build above should be good as long as you already have a keyboard, mouse, etc.

meh, worth if you expect to keep playing for a couple years

stick with a Intel CPU and AMD GPU for a build. They usually have the better price to performance compared to other companies. also for the people who say a RTX GPU is better, pc part market is shit, and Nvidia RTX cards have issues with high latency and input delay. also for optimizing pcs, check out this guide:
