many foreigners come to india thinking its extremely cheap, so they end up living in 1 star hotels and travel by below standard means of transportation, my relative works in tourism industry, he has always said that people really underestimate the costs of india, to get by sure u can live with $200 a month but to live a middle class average life its not cheap, so they end up in really shady areas and this happens
