Winning tournaments and having good players usually means better sponsorships and other revenue streams such as merch sales, which is how they make money BUT in the case of DSG, Ludwig or even xqc they draw viewership and fans of their own so they could get sponsorships and setup revenue streams irrespective of how their teams perform. So yeah no real financial loss
