Every Hollywood movie or Netflix show I have seen...
Most teenagers move out of their parents home at 18.

Is it really the case Or not?

If so, why?

White parents prolly. People that have family from non American cultures usually stay with their parents. In my experience atleast

Depends on how abusive your parents are tbh
I moved out a week after i graduated

Money is a weird weird culture here
Parents like to ask for rent without teaching your child to be self dependent i feel thats very common here
In my house it was a little bit of that but also my dad was a manipulative narcissists

I've also just seen shit parental culture in mostly white people if I am being honest
That was my rural towns main demographic and I only saw it with other white people like myself

the only reason people would do that is for college. then most of the time, after college, they move back in. the average 18 year old is not financially stable enough to live on their own, unless their parents are rich.

It really just depends on the family. I'm going to a college only a 20-minute drive away, so I'm living at home until I get my first job in my field after college.

White

Officially moved into my “own” place (with a roommate) when I was 24

But lived wherever and with whoever I wanted since I was 19.
