trashtalking in general don't usually happens between teams playing each other for the first time , it happens between team/region with intense rivalry and if you trash talk before winning and you loose you will get hard clowned by opponents .
Trashtalking after winning force opponent to work hareder next time to win and show you your place which further heats the rivalry

I play badminton and same stuff happens here too and i know how it works
