16 team Champions???

in the recent video explaining vct 2023 by riot, they said that there's gonna be 16 teams in champions, with there's only 3 international leagues, it's impossible to split 16 slots between 3 leagues (unless of course it's gonna be 6 5 5, which is highly unlikely) so does that mean China gonna have their own spot in champions?

it's for masters not champions IIRC, also even if they do, say like, masters winner gonna get an extra slot, there's no way they would invite half of each 3 leagues to champions right? that would make international leagues a bit meaningless

Well there are only 30 teams in the league and 16 slots at champs so thats a little hard to avoid. It would be cool if they invited the ascension winners to fill out some of the slots.

damn I can imagine teams that are guaranteed to be in the top 4 of their league are just gonna save their strats and ints the game, I hope they don't have a guaranteed 4 direct invite slots on international leagues, I was kinda hoping it's gonna be at least like this:

Masters winner (the winner itself, or give more direct invite slots to the region) = 1 slot
Pacific = 3+1 (LCQ) slots
EMEA = 3+1 (LCQ) slots
Americas = 3+1 (LCQ) slots
China = 3 slots

Valorant in China only recently out with their domestic league system isn't fully established yet, it would be EXTREMELY generous to give China 3 slot to champs. Only other possible explanation would be winner of ascension from each region (3) gets opportunity at champions?

When partnered teams were announced there was also a report that is gna be 4 teams/region in Champions iirc
so 12 + 2 cn teams + 1 masters winner . I have no idea who will get the last slot

On the Valorant esports website it says: Masters will return in June and will feature the top teams from each international league. The second international event of the year will reward top teams from each territory with a direct qualification to Champions.

So I'm guessing it means that the best performing team from each league at Masters automatically gets into Champions?

So something like :

EMEA

1 Master
3 League
1 LCQ

Americas

1 Master
3 League
1 LCQ

Asia

1 Master
3 League
1 LCQ

And China gets one spot?
