2nd server in South Asia

The recent TEC tournament showed us that SA and SEA can not mix up perfectly, TBH SA is running like a tournament hub.
Even SA's expansion is remarkable. It is high time Riot should establish 2nd server like in Chennai🇮🇳/Srilanka 🇱🇰/ Bangladesh 🇧🇩where sa and sea players can get balance ping.

andaman is a military zone plus too small to potentially set up a server so the only likely choice is chennai or somewhere in thailand

No thats the north Sentinelese island which is isolated other than that Andaman and Great Nicobar islands are open for civilians and they are major military strongholds for Indian Military

Chennai/Dhaka/Bangkok server. Bangkok would be the most fair one. SA would get an advantage on chennai or dhaka

Cant kolkata be an option too? Its quite close to bangladesh and sea teams will have 30-40 ping too.

on tournament basis alone they cant set up a server smh, all the casual indians will continue on mumbai meanwhile all the sea high elo players will stick to sg server therefore the indian high elo players will also stick to sg for easier matchmaking, only ppl who will consistenly use a potential chennai server will be south indians,bangladeshis and the casual playerbase of thais since they might get almost same ping to chennai as to sg so yea its not very practical to set up a chennai server even though it def would help in bridging the ping gap between the 2 most populated sub regions of apac

maybe do only chennai server for custom rooms, thus mumbai and SGP server wont be affected and pro players can take benefit from chennai ping

Tier1 is going to be lan next year, very low chances riot make a 2nd server just for t2 leagues and challengers. But too late to say anything.

Amazon Web Services/Google Cloud Platform/Microsoft Azure and all other major cloud computing platforms only have servers in Mumbai and Singapore. Riot uses one of these services as far as I know and does not have their own physical servers.

So anything except Mumbai and Singapore is just not possible at the moment unless Riot is willing to setup their own hardware or these cloud service platforms open servers in new cities.

All I can say is,

I can't quite see an option to create a Chennai VM at the moment + a lot of services are restricted even in Mumbai. Imagine what happens in Chennai.

Just imagine if there is a Dhaka server so the sg/my/indo can get 30-50 ping the Pakistani players can get 60-70 ping also that server would be beneficial for ind/bd/sri/npl players ....so that server will be more useful for every one

AWS do have mini setups. One being in Delhi.
If they want they can do setup one in Chennai. Chennai as well is big tech hub.

IDK if it would make a difference. The average ISP providers at BD rarely give a good connection. I also have the issue where in the menu it shows 50-60 ping, but when I get in a game it fluctuates a lot. Unless your spending atleast 2K on your internet connection, the average/casual players won't benefit from this.

SEA has 1: Singapore
OCE has 1: Sydney
SA... wants 2? Only if SEA gets another one FIRST, like Jakarta/Manilla. SA can get one AFTER.

yer u can have it AFTER. The ascension will comprise mainly of KR/JP/SEA and maybe China, sure there might be OCE and SA, but all those REGION together might be grouped up in HK/SEA server anyway for competition. Makes more sense and LOGIC to have extra SEA server.
