Turkish Fans Come

I have a theory and I wanted Turkish fans to confirm whether or not it's true.

I think many people forget that Oxygen was arguably one of the most successful Turkish teams of 2021 in terms of their consistency. They were always able to qualify for EMEA Challengers and consistently won a couple of series each time, although not enough to qualify for the international stage.

Essentially, I believe that the disbanding of Oxygen at the end of 2021 caused a collapse of the Turkish scene since the players of Oxygen were scattered across various Turkish teams leaving BBL as the only Turkish team that was competitive enough against European teams.

OXG was not the most successful Turkish team

Half of the OXG players were money launderers

OXG disbanded and I don't care, a team with some characterless players (except Xistou and glovee )

We did not weaken as a region because OXG disbanded
:)

I think Turkish scene lack in tactical and teamplay side of the game a lot, we miss like 70% of the game. I think shooting part is okay for us :D

Building strategies, talking every day about how to approach the game as a team, bringing new ideas. Having set executions, huge tactical book that will make you the winner of long overtime games.

If TR scene is collapsed because OXG disbanded, i would rather not have a scene! at all. TR didn't achieve anything in FPS as a full Turkish team. We only had shining players playing for international teams.

I can't remember a Turkish igl that won big LAN events, yeah right :')

Bro this post is dumb.

A scene doesnt die because OXG (not even turkish org) leaves

People said the same stupid shit with T1 leaving Korea, now look, korea has the biggest valorant scene in asia

korea has the biggest valorant scene in asia

Playerbase and revenue

I did rough projections based on youtube views, pc bang stats, and cross game analysis

Valorant was the number 1 growing game in Korea, and is the second most popular game overall https://www.gamemeca.com/ranking.php

is this compared to other subregions tho? At least from what I've heard the game is #1 in Japan with huge playerbase

these are good stats tho I'm happy for Korean scene

Tbh its either Japan or Korea, Japan def has the edge in viewership and twitter impression but I dont think they have the biggest playerbase

no way korea is ahead of sea or japan?

SEA is a group of countries, combined they are def the largest portion of apac revenue

Japan also has a shit ton of viewers, I dont know how well that correlates to playerbase. For example Apex viewership is huge in Japan but playerbase wise its far smaller than NA

Im mostly comparing Korean pc gaming market capitalization, looking at Korean gaming trends, and then extrapolating that figure to compare it with the rest of asia

Main point is, the only bigger scene that I can see an argument for is Japan, but no individual country in SEA is bigger on valorant than Korea atm

If Riot was a public company I would give you a detailed report, but since theyre not Im just estimating things based on market trends and development

This is not data lmfao . This is the size of game market and all of them because of LoL . Val has nothing to do with it
Also dont throw gametrics link like an idiot it doesnt even tell the actual size of playerbase

Name me a faster growing region :) youre fighting against actual data yet you have none to provide

Did you know Korea account creation is limited to 1 per SSN? Did you ever factor that into your assumptions? How many of those 1.5 million APAC ranked accounts do you think are alts? Or even better, Korean alts? You really think SEA valorant, a region thats known for mobile games, is making more bank than the 4th biggest PC gaming market in the world?

Such pointless arguing with someone whos in denial and crying about the success of others

I'm talking about valorant growth in KR not esports as a whole . All of those links u mention just showing nothing except the gametrics one related to val . Also mostly people just play on own pc instead of pc cafe there but you wouldnt know this because you still think this is 2015 KR . Dont blame you cuz u from NA and wouldnt know . It's like asking zoomers what their favorites games are then assuming it's the same for millenials and boomers.

IF it was a public company JP , ID , TH , IND would be leading . Where do you think the huge playerbase of apac comes from πŸ’€
Meanwhile KR has less playerbase than latam

Playerbase wise? Possibly

Revenue wise? No chance

You're the one who wrote stupit shit first and is now laughing like a clown. Ofc Korea is going to generate more revenue than comparatively poor countries like Indonesia or India, but that doesn't make them have a bigger valorant scene lmfao. Its determined by playerbase or viewers, kr has neither of them. Also Japan 100 percent generates more revenue than kr. Btw you have an weirdly unhealthy asf obsession with anything korean bruv, you dont even live there lmfao.

bottom line is the only thing riot cares about you poor soul

if valorant mobile comes out all the slots will go to SA and SEA dont worry

Compared to how much koreans would spend on esports, yes

It also ranks 99 compared to kr at 38 in gdp per capita

Riot failed Turkey. That's it. They should've removed a LCQ slot from LATAM/BR or SEA and give it to Turkey but they didn't.

Hopefully franchising saves them, but the damage has been done.

it's actually astonishing how sea got 3 slots

I summarize the situation in the simplest way possible. For example, let's take Brazil and Turkey as two different regions.when a brazilian player proves himself and gets a success he goes to a better brazil team (that's how he climbs the ladder) but when a player proves himself in Turkey, the first thing that comes to mind is to leave his current team and go to a Eu team. This incident I mentioned both damages the structure of Turkish teams and our best players are taken by another region.
eg SMB disband after first success, cNed left bbl, Surreal disbanded after first success. ( Sorry bad english)
