I can't do anything in VALORANT. I want to leave.

Hello everyone. I am an ordinary 14-year-old guy from Russia, and I will translate all the text in the translator. So I want to apologize for the mistakes I made .

I got acquainted with the game during the closed beta testing. This was my first experience in shooters. I liked this game very much, I was eager to play. I still remember how I could not rise to the rank of IRON 2. =)

Now, the game has become the meaning of my life. I gave up all my interests for her. I train every day for more than 4 hours a day. I watch games about players. I'm trying to get better. But I can't do it.

Now I am on the rank of gold 3. In the last act I was on plat2, and I already thought that I was starting to develop, and here is my way to a high level of the game. But I was very much mistaken. With the beginning of the new act, everything seemed to go awry. I started playing a lot worse, I just couldn't shoot my opponent.

I am in a very bad emotional state right now, every poorly played match is a very big blow for me. Sometimes it happened that I could cry because of my bad game. I really can't figure out what's going on. I've played over 600 matches (in solo).

I'm on the verge of giving up playing. Forget about this game. Nothing works. Every day, I'm getting worse and worse. I play every day. I train every day. I use KOVAK for 3 hours a day, I sit on the range for 1-2 hours a day.

I don't express my thoughts well. I just want to understand what to do if I play and train a lot, but I don't see any development. And sometimes I even play worse... Maybe it really isn't mine. Has anyone ever encountered this?...

first of all if you are getting frustrated to this extent i suggest you take a break

that said, given that you are new to fps games, the amount of time you have invested compared to a lot of good players is tiny (4 hrs a day for 9 months is not a lot compared to 10+ years of exp many have)

i agree with the break part. Video games are good, but if they do you like that you gotta stop man

Hey. 4 hours a day I spend only training :)
I play a total of about 10-12 hours a day on weekends. And 6-8 on weekdays.

Thanks for the reply. It's just that all my friends have been playing better than me for a long time, although they spend much less time playing. So I'm very concerned about this. I was taking a break. (I haven't played for 2 days).

And, I also forgot to add that I started playing seriously and setting goals for the game with Act 3 of the last episode. As well as training for 4 hours a day.

aim training is good but 4 hours is a bit much, match experience is better than anything you can do in the range or kovvaks

How long do I need to train? Thanks for the reply.

unfortunately the way games seem to work is that when you grind shit just doesnt work and you cant climb but when youre playing for fun you preform better (probably because you tilt less either at your team or yourself). Like the others saidit may be time to take a break try smth else if you wanna come back come back and theres a chance you climb up again and maybe break into diamond or beyond.
On another note thats a hell of a fucking grind. but a few days/weeks off may do fucking wonders for your mental and your gameplay

Thank you very much for your response. I enjoy the game, but the defeats are very discouraging for me. I'll take a break. I think I need to take defeats more easily and take them for granted along the way. Thank you again.

On that note (im going to paraphrase here) but n0tail (dota legend, think it was him who said it) once said something along the lines of if youre tilted after a game dont play. You got this through, i believe

Try to have more fun and care less. Worked for me. From G3-D2 in one act.

Improvement is never linear. You have to get worse before You start getting better (as you subconsciously try new things). A bad streak of games is called a slump and happens to everyone. Try taking a break or not playing as much per day or in competetive, it makes your mental much healthier.

Thanks for the reply. I'll take a break.
About playing less - I've read the biographies of many cs go players. I read a player's book under the nickname zeus. (you may have heard of him or his book.) And I came to the conclusion that almost everyone played very, very much. Literally all the free time, and maybe that's why they were on the professional stage. Maybe I'm wrong.

no that is wrong. you can play all day and get nothing done. Or you can play for 6 or less hours and learn a lot. playing mindlessly all day will only make you play worse. Focused practicing on the right things (aim, movement, gamesense) will make you play much better in a smaller amount of time.

If you play competitive, you should find friends who might be in your skill range and play with them. And, know when to take a break, you seem very exhausted mentally. And lastly, dont overdo training, a good amount per day is about maybe like an 1hr (at least for me, i dont know about you, but thats what i recommend) so that way you dont waste time to get super hot just to cool off during a game.

Don't stress it kid.... I've looked at your stats and they are looking impressive, especially your headshot%. Not that hs% is very importat in the game but it tells me you have good aim/positioning. You might consider no armor/sheriff on some rounds as an option. So what's the problem then? Well, you just keep grinding like all of us. You will get there but before that I want to point out that this performance on Jett is unaccptable:

https://tracker.gg/valorant/match/9fdf9139-4a02-4108-aa1d-1c845685bf6b?handle=Abram0v%23SOLO

Clearly something was not right for you yesterday but please don't negate to analyse those bad games as it will make you better(any bellow 0.5 K/D especially on duelists). Analise your duel perfomances as it will tell you a lot about your individual perf(overpeeking etc). Also remember that sharp focus is very important in this game, especially durring duels. As you like playing duelists, you might try to mute/unmute your teammates durring the game to help you achieve your sharpest focus(basically type of dynamic meditation).

You are good at 14yo and will be alright. You just have to stick to the game and grind. You've reached plat1 today and according to RIOT, it's a solid rank(plat1 is the lowest bound to participate in the coming tournament). So, don't stress it really as some of those golds/plats could be in fact immortals/radiants(cough...cough).

Thank you very much for your response. This is the most useful answer I've been given in this thread. Thank you very much, you have helped me a lot.

While the range and aim trainers aren’t bad, deathmatch is better practice imo, remember not to camp tho!

First off, definitely take a break like others have suggested.

It sounds as though you are plateauing/feel like you are plateauing. When you are ready to return, I would suggest:
a) Switch up your aim training routine. Always make it harder by regularly switching up your tasks, otherwise you'll get really good at one task, but your aim will still be poor in game. If you're hitting 100% accuracy, push yourself to go a little bit faster or make the targets smaller. You really only need to aim train 1-2 hours per day max. Consistency & quality of practice > Quantity of practice
b) Start working on your game sense. I don't mean playing more - you're definitely playing enough. I mean like watching pros and analyzing exactly what they are doing in each situation. While you're watching, try to make a decision on what you would do and if it differs from the pro try to understand why the pro did something else. I would suggest watching them first person (not like the tourneys where you can see everyone on the map).
c) Make sure you can play every agent decently. If you can't, that means you won't be able to predict what that agent will do in-game, so learning every agent (set ups, line ups, etc.) will help a ton.

Also, ranked is more competitive now that there is only 1 rank for immortal and much fewer players for radiant, meaning the average player is ranked lower than before. So don't get discouraged.

I agree. You can teach yourself certain things, but other things just come with time. Like in higher elos, in 1v1s, instead of playing with their ults, Sovas have started to just play weird angles because the playerbase will always expect them to go for the common ult spots offsite. Just small things like that. You'd be surprised how many people have good/decent aim in lower elos and are stuck because they can't tell heads from tails.

In the first and second Act (first chapter) I was the Gold player with the Supreme (official second highest rank) expierience in CS:GO, I was answering myself why I'm here and leave this game until the third Act. I started to climb alone in the ranked, also started play the aim games like Aimlab (want to buy kovaak) and the deathmatches (6h per day for the first week, then 3h/day). Then I reach the Platinium 3 in the end of this chapter. Now I'm in Diament 2/3 elo, thinking about the Immortal, take the second break in this game and watch a lot of content like the tricks, thinking in game, gameplays.

(link to prove my skills in Valo, for the future)
yes, i support astralis

So I have three point for you that might be overmentioned:

  • take a break from Valorant (before the reaching the goal) but practise your aim in the aim games and less important for you shooter games;
  • learning about your mains' gamestyle, setups, lineups, like everything;
  • find your relaxing things that you can forget about the matches that you were titled (I'm emotional and introvert person but not easy to unbalance me, so I'm boiling much when I got to many toxic premades in a row or play badly. that's worked in that situations)
  • recommend to avoid playing in Frankfurt servers to reduce potentially tilting about your aiming in the matches.

**Thank you all so much for your help.
I took a break, started watching and analyzing how the pro players were playing. And I also started not to train so much.

Now I have already regained the rank of platinum 2 and received a winstrike.
Thank you all!!!**

Congrats.... Just don't forget to time manage your school and homeworks.
To add, check out streams of Nukkye. He is an exeptional player and plays duelists Jett/Reyna/Raze. I am sure you can learn thing or two from him.
For Cypher/Killjoy - chiwawa and nAts who also speak your native language.
Additionally, check out ange1 youtube channel. He has lots of tutorials which you might find useful.
Good luck!

Thanks! I follow every new video on the ANGE1 channel.

I'm thinking of becoming a more individual player, and not just focusing on duelists.
As an example, I can give a Zyppan player from the FPX. Who can play for both Sage and raze. This is the player I like.

I think you need a friend to play in a duo with you or rest a bit of the game, play another game in a different style and after a week or two playing that game, go back to playing Valorant, it can be a little difficult but I think You can do it, the best thing to do when you are not able to play the way you would like is to rest for a while and play another game to relax, only after returning to Valorant
