y'all have to chill with the 1 team region narratives, an actual 1 team region is Korea, where DRX literally doesn't drop a single map and isn't challenged a single time. It's not APAC where PRX is at minimum a top 2 team, Xerxia are a competitive team in groups, and they are consistently challenged domestically, or NA where Optic is a top 3 team in the world and literally anybody else in the region could possibly get in that 2nd masters spot, or EMEA where FNATIC, FPX, and Guild are all playoff level teams, and teams that look like they are able to compete internationally are eliminated in challengers. Shut up about 1 team regions other than Korea and Brazil because they actually deserve it

I think the whole 1 team narrative has to die. If the second seed of a region consistently beat the top seeds of other regions, Valorant would be boring and less competitive internationally. If anything the whole 1 team region label is the expectation that one region is significantly better than another. The fact that Xset even took it to OT in their 3rd map against Leviatan is a good indication of the health of international competition given that Leviatan was the first seed of LATAM.
Even Korea isn't a 1 team region; they dropped sets against both Nuturn and Onslayers and last challengers were pushed by multiple teams (7th best team in Korea https://www.vlr.gg/101881/drx-vs-cnj-esports-champions-tour-korea-stage-2-challengers-w4)
They just dominate domestically against the "established" teams that they scrim a lot
Apac is just hard to judge how close they are due to prx trying out so many comps in officials, however their local competition in bleed consistently takes a map off them when they meet, and the title for 2nd best team is such a tossup between xerxia, bleed, secret and onic

And lastly NA... look if you actually think NA is a 1 team region then the baits got to your head and you should close vlr and watch some vods
No its no EMEA where you literally cant say which 3 teams make it out at the start of a split, but dang they had some good matches and optic getting second twice in a row now should be an indicator of how high level the rest of the teams are
IMO KR is a one team region because VS/DRX is basically the only representative, and the competition they get never is consistent and is a revolving door of Nuturn, On Slayers, Damwon and Maru but never really at the same time. Also, when it comes to playoff time, they just absolutely run through the competition, face it by the time they played againg CNJ they were already basically a guarantee for playoffs and that match didn't really matter, and they still did win 2-0 though it was close. In 2022, their map record in playoffs was 14-1, with the only map they dropped being against WGS in Challengers 1.
well ye, drx is unbeatable (especially vs other asian teams) until their not, and from that point onwards they're just out of the tourney
its why you need to watch kr to be able to judge how good teams are since scores are really bad to properly show that in the region.
I guess you could also technically use the last chance qualifier to gauge how good koreas other teams are, but the sample size is just so low that idk if its really worth much
But yes its 100% the region with the biggest difference between the best and the 2nd best team imo, but not nearly as big as people want to believe
