Wave Esports surprised fans in Stage 1: Challengers 1 of Europe's Valorant Champions Tour by going undefeated in a run that included a victory over heavyweights FNATIC FNATIC Europe Rank #1 Leo Leo Jannesson Derke Nikita Sirmitev Boaster Jake Howlett Chronicle Timofey Khromov Alfajer Emir Ali Beder by a score of 2-1 and locking their place in Challengers 2. Unfortunately, the German players have not yet managed to qualify for Masters on their first chance against Alliance Alliance Inactive this past weekend, losing in a close match.

xTribune signed with Wave in October, being key to maintaining the team's qualification to DACH events. He has predominantly played smoke agents for the team, favoring Omen for most of his time with them and picking up Brimstone in recent months.

This marks the first change to the Wave lineup since they first added xTribune back in October. The current roster competed together in First Strike and several other tournaments in Europe before finding their recent success in the Valorant Champions Tour.

His replacement hasn't been announced by the organization yet, although the team has until the first week of March to pick a player. Currently, xTribune is still with the organization even though he is not set to play for them in the near future.

They'll next play in Europe's Challengers 3. That will be the last opportunity Wave and other teams will have to qualify for the first Masters event of the year.
