questions about shroud

do you guys think shroud was a good pickup? He hasn't been in the val pro scene at all, and streams valorant pretty casually. I've never seen him on Radiant leaderboards.
He isn't crazy or anything, but from his youtube videos I think he's decent.

Do you think, with enough work, he can actually reach T1 performance? It's a stretch in my opinion.

IMO Sentinels is just trying to boost their viewership. There's probably a massive buyout behind the scenes...

edit: 55k viewers on twitch. the Sentinels hype train has already arrived

i think it is a good play by the org because this gives them a higher chance to getting franchised, i think he wont be a horrible pickup probably high T2 performance
but on the same hand if they were really worried about franchising they would pickup a female team

for company's branding and marketing, it's a good pick up. everyone will talk about it. performance wise? meh.

There’s no buyout, he’s just filling in and I doubt they’re paying him anything too crazy for what shroud should get

Good for marketing: yes
Good for performance: no, unless he grinds shit ton and manages to fit into the team. Like I could see him doing decent against some teams with fragging because he still has good mechanics and has common game sense from his time in CSGO, but its unlikely. Like he could just smoke X spots and add some supportive fire, but that's kind of it.

but whatever the case is they won't qualify to Champions and won't perform well.

Im p sure shroud asked SEN. he said on the video that he “put his name in the bowl” when SEN were trying to get a fifth.

Shroud is doing primary smokes but he might play something else if others are willing to take the controller spot (most likely dapr would be playing viper if this happened)

Bootcamp is in 10 days according to someone who heard it on TenZ’s stream (no evidence, just what I heard but it makes sense)

Edit: added a comma

not good for team performance
but good in content, impression and high chance riot giving SEN to franchising next year

Even if he grinds a lot I doubt he can catch up with other players who in valorant from the start. But like everyone said, it's good for marketing. Sentinels will get into franchise very easily. Maybe they will get better from there.

idk but i do think shroud if he's serious and dedicated can be very up to form by the time LCQ comes. He has a lot of experience in tactical fps and someone like him might be worth picking up to get up to par then someone who might lack fundamentals. Plus he's playing smoke so its not that bad.

Yeah, I understand why people are questioning this decision. I myself also was scratching my head. But its good for marketing and I think his experience in CS will help catch up. He also seems like a very serious guy if he puts his mind to it

if SEN can carry zombs on VCT like always before why not they carry Shroud ???
Yes maybe they cant win and go to international even with good pick up (which is pretty hard atm faze,c9 etc)

He's still mechanically goated, So simple answer is yes it's possible that he reaches t1 level.

To add to that, he's really smart just like stewie, so I believe he can adapt really fast

Marketing wise they´re on a different level now with Tenz, shroud and Shahz. Performance nobody can really tell as we haven´t seen shroud play in pro play and the whole team with potential role switches and new analysts if they already signed them.
