Riots Fault

I don't understand how some people are saying its not riots fault that players cant travel due to visa restrictions
had the Masters been hosted in a geopolitically neutral country this issue would never arise and knowing how strong Russian Valo scene is conducting masters in Copenhagen was always going to affect at least 1 Russian team or some EMEA team with Russian players

ig there is no country which is geopolitically neutral in eu(i mean against russia)

Ik but it doesn't have to be EU and NA only?

Riot should host masters in Russia so the Russian players can play.

Would probably get in a controversy where it’s seen as indirectly supporting the Russian economy, it’s not worth it for Riot as of ongoing events

Did India ban Russian Visa?....I didn't even knew lol....I thought we are on pretty good terms with Russia even around the invasion of Ukraine

Mfs should just look at CSGO esport, where Spirit, Forze, Outsiders, Entropiq russian players get to any LAN tournament except in USA with no problems whatsoever

It's obvious that Riot is a lazy garbage, there shouldn't be any excuses "russians can't travel"

same thoughts but morons keep defending riot

Riot just want save face in EU, and with host in EU they indirectly try to war/taking over against cs:go scene as EU is their home.
It's just business strategy, player is their top 10 priority but not the first.

if this keeps happening masters will never reach its max potential tho :(

Let's be honest. Even 1 player (lets say for example ange1) can't join because visa or whatever restriction.
Did you not watch master? Pretty sure the majority still watch.
And even some boycott not watch it will be only 10% of ange1 hardcore fans. That didn't even count 10% of FPX fans, and not even 1% of Valorant Master watcher, not even 0.01% Valorant player itw.
The benefit didn't more than if they focus on other.

Like I said, It's just business priority. On their bible company doesn't run on charity.

nahh you're underestimating by a lot
lets take my example I didn't give 2 shits about EMEA challengers last time nor this time so basically never saw a full proper FPX match just clips or highlights and watched only SA and then APAC challengers but I sure am excited to watch them in Masters since they are among the strongest from a very strong region but if its a half dead team by the time it reaches masters (like FNC was last time) I wouldn't tune in to watch a team like NTH win against FPX as playing with subs in masters just kills the whole excitement for the match and inturn affects the overall results of the masters too and Im sure there a lot more like me and they are not among the 0.01 you mentioned

They should have hosted here in Brazil. We allow everyone and it would be strategically good to compete against CS:GO major

Exactly Brazil is one location or they could have done it in Asia too as its relatively more tolerant of Russians

Is Brazil done with Covid tho??...I heard it's pretty bad in there

Actually we are done yes, most of the population is completely vaccinated, we don't need to use masks anymore. Sports events like football games and such are already back with no problems, Riot will actually host the South America LCQ here in Brazil, CS:GO will have the Major in Rio with almost 20k people inside

That's great news....I guess USA is only one of the few countries left still struggling pretty badly with Covid...a few EU countries but still not bas bad as the states though yea they have much less population too

ofc but growth of val in SA in not in top 30 Riot priorities
and there a lot more other factors too

i initially thought the reason why the lan is in copenhagen and istanbul is because russians can travel there, from the way riot worded their statement. (also found that denmark just suspended issuing of visas to russians last may)

#30
TmhariMummy

It's to enable crowd...as most of the other EU countries and USA obviously still has a massive Covid wave and if multiple players are affected....the LAN might need to be cancelled

#36
