Dude right now Faze dont look like they have enough of really anything other than firepower to make it out of their group/ People were rating them so high that they said they would finish in 3rd. Id say they probably will finish 6th. Even if Faze qual there is almost no doubt in my mind that LG is gonna take 2 or 3 which means C9 would also either take 2 or 3. In the fourth spot id say EG is also better than Faze so theres that hurdle and even Sentinels almost beat Faze when they were playing like a tier 2 team. Faze has been so insanely overhyped because of Babybay but the reality is he isnt going to be able to put up the numbers he did in the open against tier 1 teams. EG is strong, SEN is strong, LG is even stronger, and Faze look like they just try to brute force their way through their opponents while having little strategic depth. If their plans dont play out the way they want it to in the beginning of the round it really looks like they start crumbling and start to rely too much on Babybay just going crazy.
Faze arent making it out of groups
its not about the loss, its about how they looked in their plays and strats. It looked terrible, I didnt see any improvement at all than when they went against Sentinels. The fact that they lost on Ascent which is their best map and optic was fucking running NEON??? That was truly a testament to how low level Faze are right now. In that form I wouldnt be surprised if all the other teams end up 2-0 ing Faze even Sentinels
strat wise yes they dont have super good strat, but which NA team that have a good strat except optic and C9? most of them just rely on aim and firepower, they dont really have flashy strat like EU teams. if you talk about improvement, they are totally improving compared to previous line up (with flyuh and larry).
oh and optic already use neon since previous challangers. nothing is wrong with that.
A lot of NA teams especially recently have been coming up with a lot of strategy. Im surprised you came out with C9 cause I feel that C9 compared to optic and guard have really really weak strategic depth and theyre more just good at adapting to whatever happens like the old sentinels that used to dominate. It looked like they tried to pull out more strategy in their last match against optic and that was arguably their worst showing in the playoffs during stage 1.
Right now teams like EG, LG, XSET, NRG, and TSM are all showing a lot of strategy and planning and counterstrating. The one that really has caught my eye however is 100T. Their style of play is very similar to KR but they have a lot more adaptability which is amazing and they really are looking super hot rn and I honestly wouldnt be surprised if they make it out of groups 5-0 and make a run in playoffs potentially even qualify for masters.
yea nothing is wrong with optic using neon, im saying they used her on ascent which i find to be extremely weird and a waste of an agent cause Neon running around on a small map with a lot of corridors and corners feels like a stupid plan. Who knows they couldve been trolling or they could actually have been planning something
They literally qualified in the upper bracket and with their side of the bracket that should already be more impressive than what 100T did. They 2-1ed Ghost which are also looking like a good team, they 2-0ed GK who beat V1 and they also managed to do the same against Knights quite comfortably at that.
They looked like a coordinated team who really were able to take control over the atmosphere of the games that they played which I dont really feel with most teams other than REALLY REALLY well coordinated teams (im not saying theyre at that level yet but im just saying they gave me a similar vibe to games that I watch from FNC). They have 2 insane players in Boostio and Jawgemo (Jawgemo probably being in the top 5 NA duelists rn but he isnt getting any recognition at all) and they also have a great coach in Potter who has done wonders for them in stepping up their level of play. Think about it there were only 3 teams that qualified for the second time now out of stage 1, that being EG, NRG, and LG. LG and NRG right now are looking insane and id argue that EG arent too far behind right now they just dont have as much clout as the other 2 teams and so no one pays attention to them
I think we need to watch the upcoming matches of NRG to finally conclude how good are they rn?...i mean it could turn out that they're overhyped for no reason like faze....i mean what good teams have they really played uptill now? None i guess(cmon v1 lost to t3 teams so..)

its not recency bias at all, I already was saying that people were hyping up faze waaaaay too much after they narrowly beat sen and went against a tsm that were looking kinda off. The thing with faze qualifying is that Babybay and Dicey were going absolutely unchecked and they were running down all the teams. Had they gone down to lowers I highly doubt that they even wouldve qualified. They rely faaaar too mcuh on the fragging power behind dicey and babybay at least right now they do. Their strategic depth is abysmal and honestly even lower than sentinels right now and thats something really bad for them considering sentinels are looking like how they did when tenz first joined the team
