Optic are definitely the best team in NA rn imo but I think some of the others have what it takes. Even with the guard people forget they played a super close match against optic and then got destroyed by PRX. That’s literally only one international match against a top 4 team at the tournament. If optic get first seed I think there’s a decent chance the other NA team makes it to playoffs.
Honestly EG and 100T are decent contenders and ghost is a good dark horse. I don’t believe in XSET tho they just lack some spark.

It feels like people are crawling out of the woodwork on this site to be like EU is better at everything, Europe is the best, fuck the rest of the world. I’m sure there’s an interesting thesis in here about how imperialism and European conquest resulted in this. Maybe something like Europe creates modern version of game (say football) -> spreads it around the world along with other values -> other peoples start playing it -> some of those peoples are less interested than the area it originated in, so they are worse at it -> time to clown on them bc Eu best!
Phrased it wrong sorry, my point is I think they bring equal levels of value to their teams so Yay = Derke. Obviously the whole concept of rating teams based on their individual players is stupid because the teamplay matters more. I'd say if Fnatic maintain their current form they beat Optic, but they've burned people in playoffs before soooo

Ok honestly I think Yay matches up exactly to Derke except he's even more consistent. Maybe his peaks are a little lower, but he's literally never had a slump, and always steps up when his team needs him.
I do agree about Victor, he's definitely not as good as Alfa online, although I'm interested to see how Alfa will do in his first LAN. He's a NUTTY player tho.

Yeah I think he’s been an awful igl recently and his individual performance has also not been great (probably because of his mental), but people too easily forget he was an elite player all through last year (on sova, breach, etc) and even first stage this year. He was also known as a fantastic igl with great reads. Sentinels have been in a massive rut but he could definitely perform again on a better team.
I trust the players more until proven otherwise or if there’s more evidence

Hot take: every player on sentinels (yes even shaz) are all great and could compete with the best in tier 1 assuming they’re on non dysfunctional teams.

The upper seed teams will not do as well as the mid/low seeded teams in NA playoffs. Also optic are still qualifying.
He did but they were the same teams basically. Vanity led V1 with Penny, Zellsis, Effys, Jammyz (Wippie sub), and C9 with Xeppaa, Mitch, Leaf, Xeta, and both times they beat at least one team.
Vanity lead two different roster cores to international tournaments (rosters he basically built). No other igl in NA (or the world I think) has done that.
I honestly think both teams deserve it, Guard played so well against XSET and they could definitely be as good as stage 1, and NRG has a ton of really cool ideas that I wanna see work. Sucks that there can only be one :(

In NA, only one match will determine what teams make playoffs. Everything else is set in stone. The winner of Guard vs NRG will go to playoffs. Good luck to both teams, hoping for an absolute banger of a match.

They're pretty damn good ngl. They did get 3-0'd by optic tho after they were able to ban Optic's two best maps.
