Usually after the rank reset, where you play 5 ranked to get a rank (around 2-3 rank below your act rank), and the game will get you double rank up, for example, Act rank Asc 3 -> new season rank after 5 placement games -> Diamond 3 -> double rank up. Sort of like that.

Your case tho, I got no clue. Maybe the game judged that you belong in s3 since you have good MMR

im going to let it out that in some parts, the past is often embellished and the present is often overlooked. In terms of players tho, it'll be harder to see players like Messi, who is just a complete footballer in terms of attacking, but with the advanced technologies in training, conditioning, etc we could see players scoring good number of goals and lasting longer. Plus players like Muller, Gotze, Isco, Ozil's position is not very preferred nowadays as much as it did. Change of tactics and playstyles will impact what kinds of players we will see too.

tldr: Its useless to see which is better since its hard to compare. Can't say which is good or bad since there are too many factors.

to be fair, i take global events that took place this year as a comparison, and Soniqs won the EWC, Korea won the PNC (granted its not the best example), and only PGC is left. So I naturally brought last year's result too and honestly, player wise I still think Korea is up there. Can't take the creds away from the winning teams/nations since all nations had same time to prac and some even had players from same team for PNC
