As someone who dabbles a bit in r/mousereview and owns 8 mice, I've come to the conclusion that has always been given.
Shape is king.
These new 4k mice and lightest weight stuff are the same type of gimmicks that were happening with the early mouse scene where companies would try to go for the highest dpi possible and market it as "groundbreaking" (1k to 4k polling literally only gives you a 1/4 of a millisecond difference)
A 40g mice and a 100g mice is not going to be that different once you get used to the friction of the mice itself, your arms are not that weak to be not able to hold a 100g.
Shape however determines if you are comfortable with a mice or not which sometimes you may never be able to because of your handsize.
