You are comparing their performance to their usual "level" against worst teams. You only perceived them as not playing to their standards because they played against a strong team that was capitalizing on their mistakes and holes in their game plan. This is a common cope. "Only lost cause they played bad, they usually stomp."

Thanks :) I'll try to do more for NA franchised league when it rolls around 😎

posted about 2 years ago

Haha you and sliggy agree. A lot of people discredit shahz's IGLing because teams are stronger now, but he's saying even though that's true you shouldn't do that.

Do you know how to read?

posted about 2 years ago

ok I'll put in simpleton terms so you can understand

shahz igl diff valyn higher rating and won the match EZ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀

He's showing how strong he is this MSI.

Little writeup about it. After the MxM win tarik too was singing praises about his midrounding on his watch party

posted about 2 years ago

True, but just from eye test a lot of these went untraded. I do think one of G2's strengths as a team is trading/teamfights - these guys are all lifetime CS pros that play with really good fundamentals.

I missed most of the matches yesterday because of work so now that I am goin back and watching, it's clear how much Shahz's calls helped them win the game yesterday. Shahz's attack calling has been particularly stellar - the best examples of this are when OXY is NOT getting the entries.

In the Moist match, moist got FK in 8 out of 12 rounds. G2 won 8 out of 12 rounds on their attack regardless.

In yesterday's ascent comeback, OXY went 1-12 on the attacking half as their only entry player. On their defense, TGRD won TEN FIRST ENGAGEMENTS, but G2 went 6-6 on their attack.

Additionally, in overtime on split - shahz's calling won them rounds 26 and 27 specifically. Round 26 - G2 down a player, shahz waits out NeT's lurk in mid and kills him, instantly full team rotates over to A during the hit. ShahZ gets the second frag of the round and team is holding site in a 4v3. Round immediately after, fast A play with only raze to dive - sliggy called out on his stream what a good change of pace and ballsy call this was. G2 just need one defense round on split to win the series.

Really impressed by shahz this MSI, he's calling like a world class IGL. Last year was a rough situation in SENtinels, but yesterday he really showed what his caliber is against a strong team with strong IGL in Valyn.

post match interview, dapr said this match was a battle of two strong IGLs, and when it goes this long and hectic, it comes down to noticing holes in enemy gameplan.

I think m80 win today based on map pool, but excited for the grand finals regardless.

I think it would be funny as hell if g2 win ONLY cause this site would be the deepest salt mine ever observed by man

imagine the ratzamposters cope and tears kkkkkkkkk

this is an overreaction. they lost a close series to a very good team. they are hard workers and always improving.

they are in a 3 way tie for best NA challenger team still imo

I think they qualify for ascension no problem.

winning it is a different story cause their LAN performance was pretty pathetic, but they are way more experienced now.

posted about 2 years ago

meh I think comparing eeiu to shahz and johnqt to dapr is pointless. comparing IGL with non IGLs just cause they play the same role is reductive... johnqt fragging fell off a cliff this year since he's off chamber and calling now. a lot of teams rely on their initiator to frag but shahz's util is primarily for getting info to make calls off of not fragging.

posted about 2 years ago

nah m80 lost ascent to the guard with ZERO round wins on their attack side. G2 just beat guard on ascent, which is a map they were undefeated on before that. I think g2 would win on ascent. Icebox is a 50-50. m80 beat or esports and mad lions on it, two dogshit teams. g2 have beaten oxg, shopify, and faze on it, with no losses. they rolled oxygen 13-4 on it today without even picking it.

haven is just... something is not all the way there for g2. they only won twice on it, one map against faze where shahz had them read, and a win against OXG where g2 were clutching out of their ass.

so yeah, 3-1 for m80 is my prediction.

now that I think about it just a simple role change wouldn't be this hyped by noyn right? cause he already mentioned that pancada has been playing senti only in ranked.

plus the other day I was watching shaz stream and he said they scrimmed an NA franchise team with "interesting" role changes

what if it's like, tenz to flex, zekken to jett, dephh smokes, pancada senti, sacy initiator. tenz off jett would be pretty much meme

posted about 2 years ago

he often says on stream he doesn't like playing smokes

won't deny he's probably the best in the world at it but that doesn't mean he likes it

and if you can put players on roles they are more comfortable on it's good for the team as a whole

sully and upmind were hype for kiddie meal tournaments but this year they are pissing me off

they just say random shit

no analysis in any meaningful way besides who killed who

no color

yell for boring fights and then in actual important moments they're just unintelligible

also the narratives they push have no basis. so many times they push this idea that g2 is all individual skills and no teamplay, when team fights are probably one of their stronger suits even if they are weaker tactically.

one round 4 Ts are set up A main and sully is waffling about some nonsense "contact play" . Brother they are throwing utility that's not a contact play

anyway doesn't matter just kiddie league so lame casters gg

posted about 2 years ago

I think M80 will take it because they have a better map pool AND get both of the map bans. Their perma is lotus and they ban split usually when given the chance, which is G2's best map. G2 are shit on fracture and pearl is their perma. And their haven is continually unimpressive.

so assuming

m80 win pearl
m80 win fracture.

then they need to win only one of haven, ascent, or icebox. depending on the map order I can see this being a 3-1 for m80, or 3-2 if G2 can win both icebox and ascent

posted about 2 years ago

They are insanely talented, and only playing together for a few months now. With a split and tournament under their belt to gain chemistry and learn from mistakes, and with how hard immi works I think this team could realistically be the NA representation ascension favorites by the end of playoffs. 4 of the players on this team have had success at a master's event before as well.

Excited to see how they develop and how TGRD and M80 keep leveling up as well. Also need to watch out for a shopify run next split.

TSM a tier below. TSM g2 m80 are 1a 1b 1c right now. let's see who keeps leveling up in the next split.

posted about 2 years ago

I think they rely heavily on neT's extreme passiveness and lurks on their attack sides

this works really well against lower level competition and bad IGLs

but against good IGLs and strong teams it doesn't pay off that much. one round specifically on the split comeback shahz peeked out mid and just held for the neT lurk and they had all the info to rotate A for the hit.

they are extremely individually talented across the board and can pull out rounds on individual plays when their protocols break down

they're not even that cocky, they always work hard win or lose. idt they needed humbling

who really needed humbling is their guzzler fans that act like this is the most tactical team since prime astralis

lmfao you are so convinced about your narrative that you are just anecdotally saying random bullshit like shahz didn't work hard or... have good shock darts? I promise you have no tactical understanding of the game to give any valid criticism of ANY team's IGLing or strats asides from counting how many setplay execs they do.

posted about 2 years ago

apparently pancada doesn't like playing smokes and prefers sentinel. dephh was comfy on smokes last year for xset. I think this would be a good change and makes sense no?

posted about 2 years ago

sick mental issues

zombs was a scrub who wouldn't play outside of practice

kanpeki didn't work out

tenz got covid during a pivotal match against optic

sen stuck him with shroud for LCQ and they only lost to the top 2 teams (TGRD and 100T) with 13-11 map 3s.

shahz wasn't the problem - team never had a chance that year

posted about 2 years ago

this take is so tired

prior to getting rawkus shahz tried for legit coaches like sliggy, seangares, and kaplan. SEN literally wouldn't buy out kaplan from ghost and they ended up with rawkus.

posted about 2 years ago

it's pancada to sentinel role and dephh to smokes

if they actually bench someone for marved this team deserves to be franchised for knights monthly only

posted about 2 years ago

I think he could be that player. they play really differently but tex's aim is insane. sym is first in first picks and first deaths, they live and die by his aggression. tex plays in a team system for a team that competes at a much higher level than MxM do.

posted about 2 years ago

he's good but what has he accomplished? a second place finish in the weaker group and 5th place finish in MSI. he's behind both koala and oxy in acs. which of the players in the tiers above sym would you replace for him on a team?

posted about 2 years ago

idk about hard rankings but tier list would go something like this

S: Cryo, Yay, TenZ, ardiis
A: Jawgemo, Koala, Oxy, Tex
B: babybay, Corey, Sym, PWNY
C: all the other doordash drivers in challengers

I think steel is an okay IGL but he is a floor raiser not a ceiling raiser. Give this guy 4 ranked players and enough time and they will be good enough to qualify for tournaments against instacart pushers but he is too weak mechanically and tactically to propel a team into league championship contention. I think maybe with some big firepower on his team they can be a contender. Anyway DSG is a bottom 3 team in the league either way, especially since SR picked up vanity.

anyway I think dsg should drop everyone but steel (sentinels) and genghsta (smokes) and try to pick up two legitimately talented fraggers + a strong initiator player if they want to make ascension this year.

it is good but the healthiest practice in a lot of cases is to only eat 2-3 times a week, not every day. fatty red meats are really delicious and chicken is like a blank canvas for any good seasoning. fish is underrated but really good and good for you
