Looks like last year where it is really competitive but there is a pretty heavy favourite, last year being fnc and this year geng. Definitely high potential for a lot of teams to go far tho

id say hes mostly like stax as he was a good caller but didn't want to call, and eventually left to join another team where he wouldn't have to call and could shine. Plus yk they both play initiator or whatever

Spitfires has been far better and more explosive than most Chinese duelists recently, tonight was a bit off but he still went crazy on the first half of sunset

Felt like mental problems were their biggest weakness throughout, with an inability to close out maps and series during split 1, and then tonight losing a 5v2 and a 4v2 back to back which cost them sunset and a potential 3rd map. Sword9 and ego do seem like a strong duo that can cook up ideas and this team definitely exceeded all expectations, but just weren’t quite at the top. Good season overall with lots of positives to take away and build upon

Anyone got any thoughts or feelings? Idk how TLN snuck in over RRQ and TS but ig they did, also EDG are kinda suspect but they've looked better the last couple weeks with s1mon. I think FNC are a big question mark in terms of power and FPX have looked very poor this split after a good showing in Shanghai.

Tbh by the end of it China was very close with bottom teams like Tyloo tec and wolves starting to look a lot better right at the end, and there are about 4-5 teams that could be on top of the region any given day. So I’d say China is the most competitive

What happened?

If trace win then fpx edg trace and Jdg/BLG will have the 4 most points so they all qual cause whoever misses top 3 gets in anyway
If ag win then idk it’s just whoever gets top 3 and then points will be either be fpx/edg if they go 0/2 or trace if either ag/BLG/Jdg go 0/2

If trace beat all gamers which is likely the jdg/blg game becomes a qualification game due to how the points work out. I'd say jdg/blg is 50/50 and trace vs ag is 70/30 so id give blg about a 40% chance of making champs

yeah I mean I love swerl but I think JDG are playing far better than NOVA atm so I'd rather see them in playoffs

BLG look really good. AG look really good. TRACE look really good. FPX look really good. It's a shame that EDG have a slot already because these 4 teams are the best in the region right now.

Must win game for both teams if they want a playoffs spot, with nova also needing an EDG win and wolves needing a DRG win. Nova has looked like the better team throughout Split 2 with a nice DRG win and a close fight with BLG, and generally seems pretty solid. Wolves looked horrendous against BLG but seemed not awful against EDG, but still are far from their potential. I think I'd give nova the edge, probably about a 60:40 in favour of them, but I am cheering for my boys at wolves to turn the season around and clinch a playoffs spot.

I feel like other than Turkish teams it’s sort of an expectation that teams will have players across at least a few countries and that is the norm in EMEA. However when pacific teams such as scarz rn do it it’s seen as an extremely weird and petty thing to do. Where should teams that represent apac generally but not a specific country play? Most European teams just represent Europe with no specific country, should apac teams just not be allowed to do this?

GenG have been the best team in the world this year, using a secret strategy I like to call, "winning thrifties." Sure the calling might be ok or whatever but they are stacked with sheriff gods and can punish teams trying to play aggro with weapons advantage. I've just seen DRG do this to EDG as well just now, going crazy with sheriffs and winning important thrifties. So I think for a team to be a true "superteam" all 5 players must be sheriff gods. If I was a scout I would just look at the best sheriff players and sign 5 of them and hope the rest works itself out.
