not even aspas or derke or zekken, with how they’re capable of putting games on their back, was capable of making much of an impact. this has been the case with most duelist players at this event because good teams know exactly how to shut down good duelists; if woot kept playing the same shit would’ve happened because now teams are capable of anti-stratting woot after their stint in shanghai
and heretics looked good this event despite everything you’re saying lol, just so happens that they can’t close out when it matters, it’s something that’s been the recurring theme of this team for the entire year. despite this, this bo5 was VERY close, arguably the best ever
edg would’ve been the better team no matter who played duelist. this is true no matter what argument you make

okay sure, let’s assume woot was playing duelist at champs and patitek was playing in place of miniboo AND woot was still the best player on his team by a wide margin
do you seriously mean to tell me patitek is better individually than miniboo? you can argue util usage but there’s only so much util can do if you can’t shoot back. they still lost shanghai even with woot being arguably the best duelist at the event
kk was by far and away better than ANY player on heretics in the grand final. he would’ve outperformed miniboo or woot on duelist today

woot isn’t going to have a generational performance like he did in shanghai all the time. he would’ve slowed down a little (like most very good players do), and because patitek himself is about as strong as miniboo mechanically, they would’ve still not been able to close out
if you think th would’ve reached grands without woot having that kind of an event, then you’re unfortunately the one who’s coping
y’all, the patitek roster was not as good as you think, woot was legitimately hard carrying them through the whole event
he is absolutely a better duelist, but he isn’t gonna drop those insane numbers forever (perhaps go positive more, though) and patitek himself isn’t a strong enough player to support another run like this if woot doesn’t do woot things
“best player in the world” you can debate but it is absolutely not debatable that AT LEAST one fnatic player should be in the top 5 in 2023, if not multiple
