for sure, I for one am very concerned looking at T1 and their chances to qualifying but its just that, be it EDG or T1 or any other masters winning team, people believe in them and more than that they believe in themselves. Confidence is half the battle of the game so im sure both teams have it in the bag. Stagnation affects even the best of teams its just that in the old Neon meta EDG seemed to have a chokehold over other teams and thus managed to beat many of them out. Same with T1, when yoru gets nerfed sometime later, T1 wont be as great and they'll also have to evolve and adapt to those changes. I dont think that any team is a 1 championship wonder case in point TenZ and how even though he wasnt at the same level for a few years, he still managed to bring himself back into form with the ever evolving meta. see my argument is that EDG's strat book doesnt seem to be as deep as before. Yes youll see stagnation from teams coming from big runs but throughout Bangkok all I saw from EDG was raw aim diffing by CHICHOO and KK. Aim diffing will work many times againts tactially shallow teams but teams like G2 and T1 can easily capitalize on the mistakes EDG make. Another thing I notice is the PRX like playstyle they have of overextending every single time. Never have I ever seen KK in a 5v4 and him not pushing for more kills. Good teams take advantage of such one dimensional gameplay which makes me concerned

I dont have much of an opinion but I do earnestly believe that the Neon meta is what carried EDG to greatness in champs. EDG literally ran Neon on 4 out of 7 maps in the pool at the time and just rolled everybody with Neon. At the current state of Neon I dont think EDG could do half as well at champs as they did. Also in this new Yoru meta I dont see any player on EDG that is consistently good on yoru. I'd be expecting yoru nerfs after toronto to his ult cost and maybe duration a bit too. Tejo nerfs are also incoming but yeah I dont think EDG is going to do much at toronto assuming they even qualify to it

Edit 1: Ascent was their permaban and they didnt play Neon on that either so 4 out of 6 maps which is a lot

this is a fair argument for DRX its just I cant really trust DRX to pull it off and beat the Masters winners in a head to head. Sure they rolled T1 in Kickoff but the opposite happened in Bangkok and while yes Bangkok was over a month ago the rookie talent on DRX just doesnt seem as strong to me as the veteran talent in T1. There is always some regression after winning masters because everyone is studying how you play and adapt their own comps to adjust to the new best playstyles. Yes there is a world out there where DRX just dunk the fuck outta T1 and T1 dont even qual to Toronto but it just seems so unlikely. Of course I can make arguments like DRX lost a map to Paper Throws and G1NG but the same can be said about T1 collapsing to TLN. Lets see how the games play out, thanks for the opinion!

GENG havent been the same without Meteor imma be honest. the lurks that meteor used to do as their senti player gave me visions of 2021 prime nAts. there is a reason why he got MVP in Bangkok, bro hard willed his team over the line sometimes (not discounting the fact that no one on T1 is a playmaker its just Meteor seems to have ice in his veins when it comes to this shit)

Most likely: MiBR, SEN and G2
MiBR has the easiest road to qualify into playoffs they just need to beat 100 Throws and Kr0 V0sa. G2 make the upperbracket run. C9 out immediately. Lowkey though a very interesting storyline would be EG making the lower bracket run to beat SEN and qualing to Toronto. I personally want EG to qualify because I think yay and icy deserve a shot at redemption in masters.

VCT EMEA:

Most Likely: TH, FNC, TL
the playoffs bracket is mostly unknown but I think TH take first seed in Alpha and make the run to regional GFs where they lose another Bo5 this time against goat Patikek. FNC make the lower bracket run but lose to Liquid in Lower Finals, nAts IGL and fragging diffs Boaster and Keiko masterclass fries the rest of FNC. Vitality get knocked outta playoffs with 0 wins and BBL almost beats FNC in reaching the Lower Final after which chiwa comes in and BBL wins EMEA Stage 2

VCT Pacific:

Most Likely: BOOM makes toronto in upper bracket, T1 loses to BOOM then beats BOOM in Grand Finals to take Stage 1 trophy. DRX go out 5th-6th again, PRX fails to qualify and RRQ qualifies to Toronto.

VCT China:

Decided: Wolves and XLG, EDG probably are the last ones although I wouldnt mind a BLG upset. BLG doesnt have my upset goat Biank tho

Robbie was very on/off with his fragging, was very good against Apeks but got steamrolled on the other games I wouldnt blame them. As far as performance goes that 2nd map of Haven definitely did not look like a Gentle Mates map pick.
