My cousin is building a computer, and asked me to help him choose the parts, but I'm kinda out of touch with the war between AMD x Intel since I built my PC 2 years ago .
He wanted to buy a 4060 or maybe 4060ti , but he has enough budget for a 4070 , so i said it would be a better choice if he is aiming for longevity and performance (he said he wont change anything for the next 7-8 years).
I dont know wich processor + motherboard combination would be the best choice tho , With all this Zen4 and ddr5 thing, and also the intel 13th gen , im kinda lost . I was thinking about the i5 13600k , since it has a good performance for a "cheap" price , what do u guys recommend ? What about AMD ? (dont wanna a high end motherboard tho , way too expensive here)

At least 60-70% , but i agree that things changed , Valorant now has a lot of players that came from other games besides Csgo and Players that played valorant as their first tatical shooter . Also , CSGO was one of thr biggest game played after league (in China) . Anyway , all im saying is that Valorant was an open door for many people , specially thr regions where csgo was more like local tournments or the games was pretty much a dead region (few teams) . (and i do think that , just the top 5% players from cs2 would be able to switch to valorant RN , cuz the game changed a lot )
