We have this expression here in Brazil "if you don't know how to play, don't go down to the play (meaning playstation)", which invokes a children tradition in here of flaming and BM between kids when playing football/fighting games on PSOne/PS2 back in the 2000's.
Usually, when we were kids, we used to play outside the whole day and when the night was coming, we gathered together to play videogames on someone else's house. But, we would only allow some kids to play, the kids who could handle the banter, sore losers and arrogant winners were kept out of the group. If you win and laugh at your friend, be prepared to get laughed at when you lose. If you "insult" (children insult in here btw) someone, you gotta handle the banter when it comes to you. It was about "developing character", you will always get back what you throw at others, and you gotta have the conscience it will eventually happen.
