Because they can’t counter it or die in horrible ways (getting slide 1 tap by a neon where you basically can’t do anything). People wanted chamber to be nerfed coz it was hard to counter, while neon is as « skillful » as chamber ( if you are bad at neon you won’t be getting any value so it’s not easy value)

I agree about shion7 and nicc and Luke too, but SpiritZ is not alone, he is with v0okashu, and having 2 players drop 30 bomb every map help a lot. I think once like get more consistent they’ll have 3 incredible shooters, and maybe just get a new support cast or they need to get better

So we all know that off season is coming to a close soon :

• a lot of team have announced/are announcing their teams in the next couple of days.

But let’s look back slightly 1 year ago and the whole 2024 season.

Who won in 2024 ? Sentinels, Gen.G, EDG.
They have common points :A big booked off season for 2 of them, and a light for one (Gen.G). Sentinels participated in 2 show matches hosted by them and a really great off season event. EDG had to play the whole china circuit in a gambit for off season. But obviously either they could not capitalized off the off season, got tired on the way, or just got bodied by the only team that can beat them in the end.

The second common point are the roasters announcement :
Sentinels signed Jhonqt as soon as they could, they even trialed him while champions was happening. Gen.G (if I recall correctly) announced their player a month or two in the off season). And EDG kept their team but only swapped a player later, but they did it extremely fast in the opening of stage 2 and took time (since they were locked//in for champions) to develop a stable system for champions.

We can draw from this that having a successful team environnement, where you get your team chemistry up and running fast can really get you good result and therefore having matches in the off season help a lot. When looking on the other side (NRG) those team neglected the off season and did not manage to get anything memorable done (except the 12-5).

Tldr ; team that neglect the off season have chances of having a bad season overall.

They are high chance that they mess up first try but let’s look at how it works : they released the outlaw a new gun in a 3 yo fps game, no balance change yet, which means it’s pretty good placing, the shield is different because it can impact way easier an economy therefore have more impact but it’s the job of the community to be able to give constructive feedback to help the developers release long term solutions
Tldr : let’s not whine about a new shield and be happy we are getting new meta changing feature every once in a while
