i mean, i'm always rooting for an upset. the Havan game was still fun cuz it was a stomp but it was close at the same time (?), like there was a ton of 1x2, 1x1 rounds on that game and both teams seemed to be playing at a high level tactically, 100T just outplayed them. i just feel bad for CR tho...

actually no, Hiko was just the first Valorant yt channel i was a really into when i started playing the game, i knew no other pro-players so i started rooting for 100t lmao but then watching first strike i kinda fell in love with the team, so i stuck with the roster through this whole thing

Here's what's happening: HL sign aspas as 6th man one day before the flight to Berlin. Aspas does not play the first map, which HL loses. And then, aspas joins the server. Asuna v aspas the greatest cross-region weeb Reyna battle of all time, Asuna drops 30, aspas drops 40. They keep going. The game is only 5-5 and Asuna has 50 kills. When they reach the 12th round, all other teammates disconnect since they figured they were only feeding and it's an epic 1v1 that goes to 30-30, 40-40, 50-50 when finally they find out that, in the end, the real Masters Berlin Champion was friendship.

In BR we don't have an N-word. The N-word would translate to "negro" in portuguese, which is actually the standard way to describe a black person here and not seen as racist at all. The closest thing to an N-word we have here is "macaco" which literally translates to "monkey", it isn't inherently racist but when you adress another person using that word, it has a strong racist conotation and similar weight to the N-word. People get cancelled for saying it here

Bad behaviour, disappointing statistics, no results is all they know. So they find each other, they form a team of rejects. Nobody wants them, nobody trusts them. They have to prove themselves again, start over. And they do, they find an Org. Still, no one thinks they got what it takes to qualify. I didn't think they did. I cheered against them through this whole qualifiers and game after game, win after win, I felt them prove me wrong in the flesh. Jhow's homecoming match against Gamelanders, their rematch against Sharks, their first match against brazillian titan Vikings and their final test against the last of the region's giants Furia, all of the greatest teams in BR taken down one by one, losing to 5 rejects, fighting through that lower bracket all the way to Berlin. Today is Heat's homecoming match against Havan, the team that kicked him out and went on to become the region's best, and honestly, even though they probably can't take this one, I'll be rooting for Vivo Keyd today.

i agree with that actually, i love how every team has the same change to be the winner: no matter how much money they spent, they all start the same and have to fight through the open qual toe to toe. what i meant in the post is that i just wish there was more meaning to the regional Grand Finals itself, i don't know how to do that exactly, but i just feel like a lot of the times, once the teams are already qualified they might aswell "save strats" on the grand finals, i dunno

i literally say i like watching it on the original post, if i didn't why would i even be here? i'm just giving my honest opinion as fan, suggesting how i think it could be better. it's not like i'm talking shit about the VCT on this post, i'm just pointing out an aspect i feel could be improved, in a constructive way imo

I kinda feel like that proves my point. You can qualify for Champions even being top 4, but still every team wants to win because they want the title. Maybe Bundesliga isn't as competitive because there's a couple dominant teams, but take the Premiere League then, every team wants to win it. There's just as much competition on the inside of a region, as there is on the outside.

So, I'll just start this off by saying that overall I like a lot of the choices here. It feels like the teams play A LOT but just enough so you actually wanna watch every match your favorite team plays and it isn't exhausting. I also like how everything is leading up to this big finale at the of the year where all the best teams will clash, and everything the teams play sort of means something for that final big event, and it's kinda epic and stuff. But the thing is, winning some of these events (mainly Challengers) has no meaning or weight whatsoever. By making everything a qualifier you're boud to some lose weight.

I remember my friends were watching the BR Challengers 3 Grand Finals before Iceland and I literally asked "why are you guys watching this? Both teams already qualified for Iceland, it literally means NOTHING.", they told me it was a match for the title. And see, here's the thing: it kinda isn't. Challengers 3 isn't a title, it's just a qualifier. The challengers event isn't presented as an actual thing you want to see your teams win, just as a means to an end. It's not like winning the Bundesliga to qualify for the Champions League because there isn't really a title. Just yesterday ShahZ was joking about how "this all just a qualifier for the qualifier for the qualifer for the final qualifier". The solution is pretty easy. There's a reason why "Vikings are the Masters 1 Champions" means a whole deal, while "Vikings were the Challengers 3 Champions" means nothing, even though they're literally the same tournement, with the exact same teams. It's just in the name and presentation of the tournement.

If there was an inicial Challengers fase, the same as it is now. But instead of Challengers 3, it's presented as the final regional tournement, with a different name instead of just a "3" in the end of it (you've gotta see how hilariously anti-climatic this 3 thing is), to decide who is the Champion of each region, with a title and everything it will make those matches have a lot more weight.

I dunno, maybe this is just me. I'd like see your thoughts on this.
