inb4 Astralis becomes an NA Valorant team

posted about 2 years ago

The core 4 of Liquid (ScreaM, L1NK, Jamppi, soulcas) has always been good. It's always been their team composition and Kryptix underperforming which led to their poor Stage 3. It looks like they fixed both of those problems by using Astra and replacing Kryptix with Nivera.

I like it. Feels like Cache.

So we all agree that Jett's dash needs some kind of windup time. A similar escape mechanic is Yoru's gatecrash which currently has a 0.6 second windup time. If you've played Yoru for any amount of time, you'll notice that you'll get killed before you actually get to teleport away. If a Jett dash nerf is about to happen, should they also buff Yoru's gatecrash? I personally feel that a 0.2 second windup time for Jett's dash and Yoru's gatecrash might do a lot for the game. Yoru might actually get used now as an Operator agent since the gatecrash would serve as the dash but you have the luxury of teleporting to a totally different spot.

D3ffo and Derke are certainly above Jamppi

Oh in that case, that's understandable. For me personally it's fine but I can see why people don't prefer her voice.

wait people actually hate on Pansy? She's an FPS caster legend.

For me the casters were pretty good overall. They were all pretty knowledgeable about the game imo.

Current Top 10 based on the results:

  7. Asuna

Yup I agree. I remember a caster saying that ScreaM is a lot better as a secondary entry. It doesn't really go well when he forces an entry with Jett since his playstyle isn't the flicky, jerky, aim Jett mains have, instead it's precise and methodical aim. Reyna is a perfect fit for him but Reyna isn't used in a lot of maps except for Icebox and Breeze. He'll be a great Skye but that's Soulcas' role. His best option right now is probably Sage again just like back in Iceland.

Liquid is in such a weird spot where ScreaM is a Jett who doesn't OP, Jamppi is a Jett main who is an average OPer, and Nivera is a CSGO AWPer who can probably use Jett to OP but won't be given that role. Unless Jamppi goes full Sova or Nivera takes up Kryptix's role as Sentinel/Viper then they'll have a lot of role overlaps.

If Fnatic doesn't return to Stage 2 form, they're gonna be the weakest EMEA team out of the 4 representatives. I love the team but they had a rough Stage 3 and I really hope they bounce back. As of now though, G2, SMB, and Liquid deserve Fnatic's Champions spot more.

For the LCQ, my heart says Liquid because I'm a Liquid fan.

My brain says G2 since they're the most balanced and most solid team in the LCQ.

But I feel like SMB would win since it's online unless Riot decides to change it.

Korea has a chance tbh.

I wanna say Brazil but I honestly have no idea why they're bad at Valorant even though they once dominated in CSGO

Imagine picking Reyna as an IGL on a map you never practiced on but still getting 10 first bloods.

Unbelievable job by him and their coach Engh. They played unbelievable Valorant the entire tournament and executed very well.

posted about 2 years ago

And he's the IGL. Absolutely fucking crazy.

posted about 2 years ago

Everyone in Gambit is so fucking cracked holy shit even Redgar popped of with Reyna on Haven damn.

This isn't an airport; no need to announce your departure.

congrats on making Champions!

Does Riot even hand out Tournament MVPs? In Iceland it was only a daily MVP. For EU tournaments there are, but for NA there aren't.

posted about 2 years ago

I want to see how Liquid performs against G2/SMB in the LCQ first. Gambit was literally the only top tier EMEA team Liquid fought during the entirety of Stage 3. They barely won against Fnatic who has since dropped off since Iceland.

I also want to see how Nivera fits with the team as well.

posted about 2 years ago

Yes but it has to be an exhibition tournament. These national teams won't have any chemistry together unless a country builds a dedicated national team which actually competes together like SMB.

Hi, I'm back with another survey which combines players from all the different regions.

Survey Link: http://allourideas.org/ValorantPros

The site will present you 2 players from any region. All you have to do is choose the "better" player between the two. There is no criteria on what "better" means so it's up to your opinion on which criteria you would use to pick out the better player.

The players in the survey include everyone who participated in Berlin + Bren/Team Secret as well as everyone who scored a 70 or higher in the previous regional surveys.

List of all the players above 70: https://pastebin.com/QwhZq38i

If you don't know any of the players, you can click on "I can't decide" to skip. You can keep answering as much pairs as you want but you can also stop at any time.

Thank you for reading my post and participating!

Starxo looks like a cockatoo and I wanna see him do some mating rituals on LAN again. His personality makes the EU vs NA fight more exciting tbh.

G2 has more letters in their name than rounds won on Icebox

posted about 2 years ago

I think everyone knows how good Gambit players are. They're just pretty quiet outside the game so there's not a lot of drama surrounding them. They're also pretty wholesome. I love their entrances with 100T and VS.

posted about 2 years ago

The time when starxo stood up when the round wasn't over and you can see cNed get slightly disturbed by him since he was still in the game was pretty funny ngl

posted about 2 years ago

I don't think there's a team where people REALLY hate. SEN has the most fans therefore has the most annoying fans but that really doesn't make SEN hated. Liquid was hated for some time because of the predictable comment.

TSM isn't hated on as well. They just suck despite having good players which is sad actually.

posted about 2 years ago

I like starxo since the competitive scene needs that spice in it but I feel like he'll get memed for what he did yesterday

posted about 2 years ago

Liquid for the same reasons as mentioned above.

Astralis if they decide to enter Valorant. Doesn't have as much benefits as Liquid but carrying the legendary name of Astralis is pretty dope.

Jamppi

When he's hot he's great but most of the time, he's not as impactful as the other EU Jetts. There was a lot of hype surrounding him since he was an up and coming player in CS which was forced to switch early in his career.

I'm not saying he's bad but I remember in an EU Challengers game one of the casters (I forgot who) said that Jamppi was Top 15 in the world lmao.

I still believe in him though.

I really want G2 to win Berlin now just for Liquid's sake. Liquid has a chance to win LCQ especially if Acend and G2 go straight to Champions. Their biggest threat would only be the 80 ping SMB and a Fnatic team that hasn't looked good since Iceland.

posted about 2 years ago

I lowkey want G2 to win it all so Liquid don't run into them in LCQ.

Why yes, I'm taking some high quality hopium, how'd you know?

Valorant is still in its early stages for a clear dynasty to show up. This is only the second international event so there hasn't been a lot of chances for team to prove themselves as the best in the world. Maybe in the future when more international events would be created, a clear best team would be seen. The pro scene doesn't have the best FPS players in it as well. Much like with the transition phase when CSGO first launched, we have to wait until the big guns of FPS migrate over to Valorant (around 2 years imo).

Serious discussion. How good would Gambit be if they replace d3ffo with Shao. Although I don't see FPX letting go of Shao, it won't be good for them if they keep underperforming.

posted about 2 years ago

I feel like Gambit tried saving strats at first but CR played out of their minds and surprised them.

posted about 2 years ago

CR played great and pretty much countered Gambit during the first half. I love that Gambit didn't get bothered by that though and came back.

posted about 2 years ago

I don't want to say he's the worst Jett but he's obviously been overshadowed by the better ones.

posted about 2 years ago

SMB has the pieces to dominate. They're just a new team so give them time. I'm honestly scared of them once LCQ comes.

posted about 2 years ago

unless an EMEA team wins Berlin right?

EDIT: And G2 somehow loses to KRU

Going out on a limb here but I feel like black people tend to play physical sports more while white people play e-sports. For example, the NBA is 74.2% black.

An NBA copypasta in VLR, I like it.

This is pretty much how I hope it would go. If the favorites were to win the first round of the playoffs, semis would look like:
SEN vs GMB
100T vs ACE
Banger semis for sure.
