crazy how the top 2 teams both had their IGLs as the highest rated

No flame to fenis but I don’t think you can cut it with his aim these days

DRX are gonna be insane as the year goes on, they nearly qualified for Madrid with two rookies that both roleswapped. Flashback is a Karon-level player and will shock the world similarly

posted about a year ago

As a day 1 FNATIC fan sadly i have to admit that they are finished. This team has no hunger to win anymore and they’re gonna forever be second string to the teams that are actually thirsty for the trophy

posted about a year ago

i watched every NA / APAC kickoff game and a couple of EMEA ones, anyone that actually watched them wouldn’t downplay them this hard

it’s mainly just ppl that only watch NA or only watch EU that are talking out their ass, but it’s all good because the reactions later will make up for it 😅

posted about a year ago

ya this is the first year where i felt like pacific was actually at the same level and not just like only 1-2 teams. GenG play a game that’s well rounded and not like the previous top pacific teams, who were always missing something

ppl that don’t watch apac are gonna be very surprised this year

posted about a year ago

here’s the answer

first few years of the game

  • na and eu had advantage because deeper cs history
  • teams in apac had less veteran presence (coaches and mentors), less fundamentals
  • around this time VS/DRX were the only ones who could compete but even they were missing part of the puzzle
  • overall worse teams means overall worse practice, so the region grows slower

recent history

  • we had way more international events, lots of losses that they could learn from
  • teams started learning way more from each other
  • fundamentals became much more well understood
  • talent starts coming together due to franchising

today

  • we have geng, who probably play the most “balanced” and “correct” valorant out of pacific so far
  • emea zero teams in playoffs
  • pacific overall level looks very solid

TLDR: it was unreasonable to expect them to win trophies for the first few years, now they are legitimate threats

If you’re curious about China, just imagine that they’re like two years delayed on this timeline

ppl so desperate to label them chokers or whatever completely forgot just how mid this roster looked before the season started lol

they've unironically had absurd growth comparable to EG, its fucking crazy that they even got to grand finals

posted about a year ago

majority of these arent chokes, they were just the worse team lol

the top 4 of apac this year are looking to be PRX, and (kr) GEN DRX T1. its even possible that all three kr teams go to shanghai

what do the other teams need to do to punch into that top 4 spot

posted about a year ago

too many cooks and all that, i feel like more than 2 callers is doing too much

posted about a year ago

you're right, EMEA went undefeated in playoffs 🔥🔥🔥

if they don't i will have take things into my own hands icl

he's just trying to get a jab in but it doesn't change that he said pacific was far away the worst region xd analyst btw

i think between geng and sen whoever went into grands through upper would lose

both of these teams needed humbling (not saying they’re ego) to break them out of their complacency and realize their weaknesses. sen saw how their split could get exploited and how bad their breeze approach was, gen needed to take a loss to figure out how to bounce back

the map ban is great of course but i think the psychological effect was way more impactful

posted about a year ago

karon really fumbled that one round where he had a free kill on zellsis, but he has literally zero experience so it is what it is. would have entirely changed the direction of the game sadly

posted about a year ago

they definitely fell off near the end but i don’t consider it a choke, it was more poor energy management. even before the map started they just looked depleted tbh

sen were still fully in it and zellsis ramped it up to 100

posted about a year ago

i think he’s gotten a lot better over time but i realistically don’t see him comparing to the two today. Haven’t seen FNC play in forever tho so who knows

can a team even win an event without an igl that can shoot like Johnqt or Munchkin???

posted about a year ago

they're positioned to win one, people forget that this team isn't even built from a core. they did a full rebuild around ONE player and built everything from scratch

getting to grands in their first event is absurd and they're gonna do great this year

posted about a year ago

could be any event, should be obvious geng is a world contender just gotta wait for the time to come

RAAHHHHH SEN 3-1

posted about a year ago

i been telling people it literally doesn’t matter when 3 of them can hard carry

posted about a year ago

the difference is Stax has worked with the same system, same players, and same coach for 3+ years

munchkin has been to other regions, other teams and really accumulated way more helpful experience and it shows

posted about a year ago

geng just have boundless confidence and it helps them so much. like even lakia is more confident than anyone on sentinels

sacy said after losing to geng they were pissed and fought, and that zellsis specifically got really mad at the hotel

then they turned up and stomped prx

is this the start of the sen demon mode 😈😈😈😈

posted about a year ago

if they play like they did today (split didn't happen) they should be positioned to get scrappy
too much talent between these two teams, it's really just gonna come down to whoever shows up and whoever doesn't

posted about a year ago

gengs icebox is super anti-able, on one rewatch you can see all of their flash protocols

posted about a year ago

to be fair, they fucked up their breeze so bad that fixing it shouldn't be hard. it's not like its difficult to spot what they did wrong LOL
