Neon had a very niche spot as a duelist. You will not see her in ranked play just because of the amount of team coordination she takes to play properly. In pro play with good coordination she is insane on some maps like split and haven. She is by not means Jett but she is a good pick to “be different” and has her own niche spot in pro play. I think optic and M3C are great examples of how OP she can be when used properly!
You cannot. So you have to pick people who you think will do good but also qualify for playoffs. Also the teams not in groups don’t get points for those matchdays.
Xerxia is by no means a bad team. If Xerxia wins it’s all by their outplay and not from optics mislplay. Optic really has to take this match seriously.

A couple things that stood out to me:
When Chet joined before champs he didn’t change much and let FNS take charge for the most part
When he was on TSM they were trialing cryocells and he thought they needed huge roster changes as soon as he joined
Most of the new comps and strats are Chet’s idea for optic
conclusion: top teams change all the time and some teams fall off after meta changes
